Who was the best 90s Britpop band?

If other, think about if actually Britpop. For example, Radiohead is NOT a Britpop band. The Bends had some elements of it, but was more a precursor to Post-Britpop bands such as Coldplay, Travis and Keane.

Pulp by far. This is Hardcore destroys everything, as well as Something Changed.

I wrote this song, 2 hours before we met
More than Different Class? I probably need to give This is Hardcore more spins. Only listened a couple times.

Not gonna go that far, but Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory are a couple of the best albums of the era. I also think Dig Out Your Soul is criminally underrated.

Dig out your soul, the last album yeah. It would he interesting if they kept going after that because almost half that album is written by people other than noel. Liam has an interesting style to his songs that he writes

the first two albums are my favourites though along with the B sides from that era

He admittedly ran out of things to say, so the extra songwriters were needed. According to Noel:

"Ive pretty much summed up everything I wanted to say in Rock n Roll Star, Live Forever and Cigarettes & Alcohol, after that Im repeating myself but in a different way."

I also need to get into High Flying Birds.

I made this thread simply because I was listening to Modern Life is Rubbish on my run this morning, but now I seem to have homework to do.

Google tends to pull in a lot of things that are adjacent. Stones Roses were a part (possibly the best part) of the Madchester scene. It was pre Britpop's existence.

Not according to educated sources. Doves are post-Britpop with heavy space rock tendencies

Yeah Doves are definitely not part of the Britpop era. It was pretty much done in 97 and thats being generous.
