I also think the next protagonist should be repeatedly disarmed and laid out by random townspeople after he fails to intimidate them.
The rest of the party should have an increasingly difficult time believing in him as the game progresses.

Or even better idea, we get Xenoblade Chronicles X-2 and get some closure for that game.

How is that in any way better than my idea?

That boxart makes me think of Lost Planet.

The characters facing the wrong way feels like a bad omen. Are they boring?

Idea for the battle system.

Three party members, only two have weapons.
The third guy is restricted to going "Aw no c'mon guys lemme borrow one!" and every time he does, there's a 30% chance another character will throw him their weapon.

The more farther removed this series gets from Xenogears, the less interested I am. Last I checked, they are just some weird single player MMORPG with mechs now.

The biggest missed opportunity with XCX was not having an NLA construction quest line.

The next game should normalise usage of the word xeno.

Xenofood and Xenodrinks. Xenofriends and Xenotownsfolk.
The Nopons get their own verbal ticks. Give the humans their due. It's been long enough.

Here is my idea for the new protagonist.

His name is either Aloysius or Fabio. Maybe something else.
He's 19 years old and he's the local snob.
He wear small reading spectacles, a pale brown suit, has short brunette hair with a centre parting and his idle animation is checking his pocket watch.
Hobbies include scoff-laughing at people, overreacting whenever he gets dirt on him and modelling his expensive sweaters.
He volunteers himself to be the leader of the party because he doesn't want anyone else to experience having subordinates. His weapon is a rapier and he takes credit for all of the team's accomplishments.
Because he has a team with him, he often tries to intimidate and bully locals using the perceived numbers advantage. It doesn't work but he refuses to admit any personal shortcomings and keeps trying it.
His move speed is 50% of what Shulk's was.

I spoke to the director of xenogames and he decided to adopt this idea minus few things. Our protagonist is a female Homs named Aurum from colony 3 who's trying to become a bladesmith like her father but due to being a girl his father was not so inclined to give her proper tutoring to become a true bladesmith. A mysterious nopon merchant came across Aurum and told about the legendary blade made by legendary bladesmith hid their knowledge in a hidden temple near her colony. Aurum alongside her childhood friends Ben and Loron embarks on journey to find the hidden treasure buried in the hidden temple

My idea is a Playstation port.

Here's another party member. This guy's from the starting town too.

His name is something mundane but not too common, something like Calvin or Keith.
He is a 22 year old guy on a stretcher. Tied to it as well. You know like the ones they have on WWE. He has a neckbrace and his right leg has a legbrace.
He wears dark blue shorts and and a red t-shirt. He has black hair.
One of the other party members has to help him get up slopes and stop him rolling away.
His left ear is messed up so he needs to be repositioned so he can hear.
He didn't volunteer for the adventure but he wasn't conscious enough to say no either so they put him with the team and sent him off on the adventure.
The other party members can use him as a small barricade or push him into enemies.
His voice sounds like Destroyman from No More Heroes but it doesn't really matter because most of his lines are groaning and going "awrghh my shoulder..."
People keep high fiving him and making his shoulder hurt.

Xenogears remake which ties the game to the XB franchise

Another idea to debuff enemies before battles.
That thing where sharks circle anything floating around at sea. That should be a feature.
Since you can run up to enemies without aggroing them, they should let you run in circles around the enemy to psyche the enemy out. Every 5 laps around an enemy makes them level down.

Add in a very robust photo mode, character creator and dress up options for said MC.

They have no facial expressions. They barely even have poses.
They're already well on their way to being named Hero, Player, Character and The Chosen One.

Well it is the only XC game where you create a character, rather than having a set MC

I think the characters should do a little dance every time you complete another row of collectables.
Each time you max out an area they do a more impressive group dance.

This is another great party member idea. Also from the hometown.

Her name is one of those names like Constance or Faith or Hope or something.
She's 26, she was sent from another colony four years ago citing that she needed some time away and a change of scenery might do her good, but that colony hasn't followed up or anything.
She has dark red hair and a fringe that casts a noticeable shadow over her eyes.
Her eyes are very tired looking and so is her voice.
She wears a beat up, hand-me-down white dress as much as possible.
Drinks all the time. Tries not to interact with anyone while sober but keeps crying and trying to make slurred declarations while drunk.
Signed up for the adventure while drunk.
Her weapon is a two handed ether staff.
She does not lighten up or come to like the party at any point.

You definitely skipped a couple games then, since X is the most MMORPG-like and is the only one that has playable mechs.

Xenoblade 3 and its DLC borrows so much from Xenogears it's actually kinda hilarious.

In the next one, the player characters should scale a giant titan.
You're told rumors and stories about its history all game. Legends say it can be bought back to life, other legends say its power source is at the top and up for grabs.
At the summit you find nothing.
It is later revealed that it's actually just a big mountain that miraculously looks like a titan.

Characters talk in battle a lot. They talk in cutscenes.
Let's have them talk while they're just standing around. A lot.

I'm guessing Ben is that guy who keeps making up new powers for himself in the middle of a game of tag and Lorom is the guy who reminds the teacher about the homework that was due.

I again spoke to the chairman of xenogames and he said "we will proceed with this decision arimasu". Just with few minor adjustments, Ben is the muscle bound guy of the group who had deep feelings for aurum(he didn't realized that yet). Lorom is the calm calculative guy which is the voice of the reason of the group who kept Ben and Aurum from recklessly go to the danger. He's also had also had some kind affection for aurum but he also to dense when it comes to romance. Lorom is go to guy for ancient text translation. He's the pivotal part of the group that support the group from the rear like healing while Aurum chip away damage with her lightning fast hammer blade.

While I consider these changes, here's another party member.

There's always gotta be a nopon. Here's your nopon. He could join in chapter 3.

His name is R-Flush. Affectionally called R-Dawg for short by his friends.
He's a 30 year old turquoise nopon with a black pompadour and a monocle.
His voice sounds like Sonic in Sonic 06/Sonic X.
He keeps talking about cards. He keeps saying generic card shit like Heh, it's the luck of the draw or I've got an ace up my sleeve.
Joins the party after his lucky card blows out of his hands and lands near them. He decides it's a sign that they need him.
Even the party members that don't talk much get sick of him fast and routinely tell him to shut up and go away.
Offers no insights about what's going on or what they should do next, keeps talking about how it's all up to chance.
His weapon is throwing cards with sharp corners. He also throws dice.
At some point they meet a really important figure and that guy tells R-Flush that he's boring.
Every time something happens he always says something about gambling and how their luck streak hasn't run out yet.

Idea for a chapter.

The party's finished resting in a town they've just reached. Someone notices them. He announces his presence with a hearty "Those weapons look like they've seen a lot of use recently! I could give 'em a good brush up if you'd like. I'm the bladesmith 'round here."

One of the party members scoffs and responds "Ugh, bladesmith? What, was bladejones already taken?" and then the party member pushes the bladesmith off of a high place, maiming him.
Word spreads and the town becomes hostile toward the party. The party have to fight their way out of town quickly.

Another QoL improvement.
Start with the Xeno 1 gem crafting minigame, but before each craft attempt, you write the number you're hoping for.
If the characters succeed in giving you what you want, they high five. If they fail, they have a fist fight and blame each other.

Because mine have appearances and vaguely described voices meanwhile you gave Lorom all the personality traits and only made Ben kinda strong-ish.

Here's a plot twist.
Whatever the team's big important thing or stand-in for a Monado is.
The team should at some point go "Hey, they'll be lookin' for this! We can use this to throw them off our trail!"
And then they dump it in a lake and let the energy readings coming off of it direct the villains away from the protags.

No it was not having that god awful wailing music in NLA and not having a music on/off toggle. That was criminal

Latest party member. This one you get in chapter 5.

She's a tomboy so her name is a dude's name like Pino or Giuseppe or Batista.
She's 25, has bright blue hair and she's kitted out in official Monado Energy Drink sportswear she won from a contest in a magazine.
Most of her attire is orange and green. There's elbow pads, kneepads, roller skates, a cycling helmet, and a visor.
Originally she behaved differently but as soon as she won that competition her ego skyrocketed and she was never the same.
She lives in another colony they visit, the colony sees an opportunity to send her off with the party and they take it.
She has the generic anime screeching voice.
Her fighting style is roller skating around and hitting enemies with a crowbar.
Most of what she says is yelling to random party members about how lame other party members are while within earshot of the people she's talking about.
Every time the team fails and needs her, she temporarily distances herself from them and laughs at their failure.

They should change the forced loss battles. In the other games they make you lose some fights even though it's NG+ and you're playing as 3 lv99s.

Instead of the boss randomly turning the tables even if it makes no sense, forced loss battles should happen because the party is unorganised, not because they're weak. One party member bumps into another, the second one insists the first did it on purpose and ties the first's shoelaces together. The third party member walks into the shot with a bucket on their head and collides with the other two. The boss sees an opening and either attacks or escapes.

Ben speaks with standard Ardainian accent. He's the jokerster of the group with all the one liners when it comes to funny reaction like "yer done?" And "think ya can tank meee?". He always seeks to improve himself in other to gain more powers in order to protect Aurum and others. Ever since his sister died during the Post Colony War when he was 7 years old. He swore by his sister's pendant that he would never allowed himself to be powerless and kill the one who pillage his original home in colony 6 by the name of Regina.

These guys sound like the kinds of people you'd play as in the prologue chapter.
They'd say a bunch of stuff about how important their fight is to them and then they'd all get dumpstered by some bad guy.
After that it cuts to the present and you start assembling the real main game party.
