i guess i headcanon him as something of a stand-in for the invader type. killed thousands, will kill thousands more, curse on the game itself, etc -- and there's even a little bit of editorialization maybe on the part of the people who gave him his name.

I didn't know people hated him. He's like a villain so he was characterized as such.
