Depends on the game, but I really liked Tales From the Borderlands and Minecraft Story Mode.

Game of Thrones, Wolf Among Us, and Batman were much more mid-tier. And I could never really get into Walking Dead because I wasn't really a fan of the setting (and after the first season, I had no real interest playing as Clementine).

And there's a lot of good Ren'Py games out there for people who like that sort of visual novel/branching choice gameplay. There's also a metric shit-ton of bad Ren'Py games.

Stray Gods looks very much in the vein of Wolf Among Us, though.

I loved TWD, especially the first season. Even the extra seasons with Michonne and the other one(forgot title) were good. Those are the only ones I've played.

Probably why I have no interest in playing the other games. Once I realized I couldn't change the major events in the story it kinda took some fun away.

Your choices don't matter in most games. In the games that even allow you to make choices at all.

The point is supposed to be that the journey is more important than the destination.

I will say that in Tales From the Borderlands, the path I took through the game made the story radically different for a couple episodes compared to how my nephew played through it. And even games with less narrative flexibility can still shape the tone of what you're saying/doing (sort of similar to playing through Mass Effect as a Paragon versus Renegade).
