My favorite movie of his is a classic called Drunken Tai Chi boxing. He used a ton of inspiration from Jackie Chan's movie primarily the comedy martial arts portion but the fight scenes are awful especially the final scene. I can't remember the name, but it was a movie where he wants to establish himself in a new area and to do so must defeat a series of regional martial arts masters only to find out after that a foreign power has established itself and is ruining the culture. Then the foreign power defeats all the same masters, forcing Yen to get serious and beat the bad guy in a final showdown, proving that Chinese Wing Chun is the superior martial art, ultimately leading to victory for the party and a path towards a strong central government that we should all just obediently listen to for our own well being. Anyone remember which Donnie Yen movie that was? --- "History Is Much Like An Endless Waltz. The Three Beats Of War, Peace And Revolution Continue On Forever." - Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz ...
