Ok so I'm seeing grooves, active tag, bursts, separate meters per character, rounds, pushblock, some weird shit where you can dash backwards in blockstun, red health, ground and air techs, get up attacks, dash cancel normals below 40% health, last chance powered up assist call with one char left. Am I missing anything

It's funny because I remember on some League forums people were posting their roster predictions and they would have like 40 or 50 characters as 100% locked in, definitely gonna be in the game. Totally crazy, unrealistic expectations, but damn if they're not gonna be mad about it regardless.

yeah people are setting themselves up for disappointment. even if theres more than 14 anything more than like mid 20s for launch is just yeah. (i do think zac would be a fine launch character as a dhalsim function tho)

so with darius if you hit with a sweet spot on his axe it applies wound which is based on his bleed from LoL. it increases chip damage

last stand. if a character is dead and other character is below 40% health you can call the dead character as an assist and they do their lvl1 super

Yasuo is probably the closest thing to a shoo-in I could think of, so that's not surprising.

I hope they have at least a few oddball / nonhuman characters in there to spice things up a little. The current roster doesn't excite me too much, but most of the character I like from League aren't super popular. Urgot, anyone?

China has too much control over League these days so I'd be surprised if they had more than like 1 oddball champion. Rest are gonna be hottie babes and dudes.

I don't think this game is for me at all. I'm a SoulCalibur pro-level player and something about a legit 2v2 fighting game makes me want to stay far far away. Whereas in League and Valorant the high-coordination team play thing makes sense, it doesn't make sense in a FG. If agency is being taken out of my hands while my teammate gets to take the lead or my gameplay plans are getting interrupted by my teammate interrupting a combo/setup with something, it's just gonna be frustrating, not fun.

Also, I've gotta find another person around my skill level to team with, and we've gotta practice together, and we've gotta both have good connections, and then the opponent players hopefully both have good connections too... FGs are already hard games to get right, and I'm convinced this sounds like more of a hassle than interesting game design.

Champions like Skarner would be hell to balance. Any fighting game character that's short is. Put in a yordle and suddenly you have Yoda from SC4 and it's the fucking worst.

The 2 players vs. 2 players mode is a side thing. It's primarily 1 player vs 1 player.

Yasuo basically a shoe-in for how many people play him, he's the Genji of League.
Everyone else is gonna either be from Arcane or that RPG they did. I'd be surprised if Garen or Miss Fortune DIDN'T make it in- hell, the only weird outlier lorewise is Ahri, and popularitywise, she's huge.

In before Teemo or Lux though. Ick.

I'm no fan of Yasuo, but if he's getting added as a party member in an RPG, where theoretically any champion could be made to fit, then he's certainly not missing out on a fighting game roster.

If the 'leak' does turn out to be accurate, then I think I'd be most pleased to see Riven in, just because way back when she was first introduced to LoL, fighting game combos were heavily cited as inspiration for her kit, so it'd be neat to see things come full circle in an actual LoL fighting game a decade later.

Ahri was in the RPG too. She's less of a lore outlier than most others at this point.

It was MF, Yasuo, Pyke, Ahri, Illaoi, and Braum as party members. If the leak is correct, only one of those won't be Project L playable, and it's the one you'd expect.

I know like 4 LoL characters and 3 of them are on the leaked list. So I have to ask. What's with the disrespect of Character Battle IX Champion Draven that he isn't in the game?

Draven's LoL mechanics would be obnoxious to translate into a fighting game, and in general I don't think he's nearly as popular as his heydey.

If kled is in then I'm obligated to at least try it out

i think teemo is naturally the most popular but for size considerations you probably want kled, rumble, corki, or even poppy?

Gwen would be cool, she has a nice design. Or orianna but it looks like they are using ekkos kit in a similar way already
