She was a teacher (in one episode at the very least) and I think he had mixed success with his toys.

Didi worked as a teacher and they never said Stu was a failed inventor. Nothing on the show suggested they had massive debt.

Didi's design is kinda charming. It has nice shapes and the glasses eyes are cute. Stu's design looks sloppy around the face and boring all over.

And then there was that episode that parodied What Ever Happened to Baby Jane where the old women just took in Tommy.

That's gotta be up there with the Pinky and the Brain episode about the Orson Welles commercial bloopers in terms of "what kid in the 90s is going to get this reference?"

I don't really like either of them, I just don't think that their designs work too well in 3D
