The games I like aren't necessarily games people dislike they're just games nobody f****** knows about

castlevania 2 was the first game i ever beat and the avgn did that episode on it (which egoraptor promptly plagiarized) and it kinda got to be in vogue to hate on it because youtube said so.

also ff2. ff2 was actually pretty neat. it's a few tweaks away.

I love Resident Evil 6

I know this doesn't fully count since I don't like it now but I loved super monkey ball: adventure as a kid lol.

Mystic Quest. While it doesn't do it as well as Pokemon, it does its job as a "my first rpg". And it has a fantastic OST

I liked it just fine, but the biggest problem was how glitchy it was. No joke, one time while fighting Frieza he just abruptly T-posed and attached himself to my wrist. When I punched, I punched the air and Frieza swung with my fist. I couldn't attack him anymore and he stayed that way permanently until I restarted lol

That's a common glitch IIRC. I've seen it on YT in several reviews.

I can't think of anything right now that hasn't been mentioned here already. Zelda 2 is a game I really like. It's got a fanbase, but still has more haters overall.

I quite enjoyed FF XIII, though I haven't played the sequels yet. Maybe if I had played more final fantasy to contrast it to I'd like it less, but it was a unique experience to me despite some flaws. I had a ton of fun during the near endgame.

Age of Empires 3. Easily the best games in the series. A true thinking man's game. The complexity is probably why it was less popular.

Shadow of the Hedgehog. As silly as the idea of a anthropomorphic Sonic character using guns is I thought the gameplay worked. Save Lost Impact with all the Artificial Chaos and the Cyber Space levels being unbearably terrible, I enjoyed most of the levels.

Omikron the Nomad Soul. Terrible controls and the story is kind of dumb but I've always loved it.

DOOM Eternal is like my favorite game.

I don't feel like most people hate it, but people either hated it or loved it. I loved it.

Star Ocean 5. For me its the second best Star Ocean with 2 as the best. Havent played 6 yet.

Bioshock Infinite is another good answer. Best in the series imo.

RE6 is one of the best Co op games ever imo.

Also loved the N64 Castlevanias.

I loved all the Wolfenstein games, especially Youngblood (but I've never played the phone game and the VR game).

If I recall Bioshock Infinite had an amazing plot (and art) ruined by a practically asymptotic difficulty curve. I recall maybe dying once in combat the entire game, until the final fight, which was suddenly much much much harder.

Skyward Sword, I guess? I'm really struggling to think of one. I don't play many games considered "bad", and the ones that I do play, I tend to agree with them.

A lot already mentioned here. Final Fantasy 13 15 and s on. The devil may cry reboot. Devil may cry 2

But I'll say castlevania adventure. I was broke but looking a new game and it was like 2 bucks on Nintendo e shop. My first castlevania game but since then I've played many. It's far from the best but it was my first and got me interested in the series

I wouldn't say top 2, but his motivations, the tragedy surrounding him and most of all Liam O Brien's performance put him high on the list for sure.

I honestly liked DMC: Devil May Cry.

Loved the antagonist's plan and actually seemed realistic. And even though Dante was utter cringe at times, the combat was really good.

I wouldn't say tales of xillia 1 was massively disliked when you consider the tales of fandom across it's entirety (Basically the japanese side, the overseas fanbase, those who post on reddit/neogaf etc.), but it did get a lot of heat from posters on this site when it finally got localized and release in the west.

It got bashed hard for various aspects. Reused map areas (this is definitely a fair complaint though. All the game's ports looked the exact same, and "dungeons" were pretty basic in design), the story, characters, and barely any side-content to do. No unlockable outfits since this is when bandai-namco really decided to go all-in on DLC (DLC started in PS3 vesperia and graces f also had some, but it was at it's absolute worse in xillia 1).

Despite all of this......I genuinely liked xillia 1. I don't know what it is, but the story and characters just clicked for me, lol. Milla, jude, alvin, rowen, and leia is some of my favorite tales of characters in general, and I really liked gaius as an antagonist. The tag-team machinic is still one of my favorite gimmicks the series used. (Xillia 2's battle system is my favorite in the series).

I want a modern remastered port for xillia 1 and 2 to be honest.

Blasphemy. But that game isnt hated, though I cant fathom why, as its a terrible BioShock game.

Mass Effect Andromeda. It is the worst Mass Effect game but I still had lots of fun playing it

I consider BioShock 2 the best BioShock if that counts.

I dont know, I cant really think of anything else. I cant remember playing many games that are widely considered shit. If it was movies, I could list bad movies I like all day.

Godus. It is overwhelming negative (25% positive) on Steam, but I enjoyed the time I had with it. Granted, It never delivered on the promises that were made (like combat), and was eventually abandoned, but when I played it, I felt it captured enough of the spirit of Populous to put 50+ hours into.

Nah. Loved me some xillia 2, lol. Like my 4th favorite tales of story behind abyss being first and tales of phantasia or symphonia being second (I can't decide, phantasia and symphonia could swap around or whatever), and the gameplay was just noice.

dead island is pretty fun with the analogue stick combat

1 has the better story, 2 has better gameplay. Infinite threw out what made the first 2 fun for 2 gun shoot bad guys down a corridor gameplay.

yea, I didn't like the color thing, either.

I heard it wasn't as much of a problem with the definitive edition (plus, you could target your enemies), but I never went back to play it.

Kingdom Come Deliverance was one of my fave games of the last fifteen years. It wasn't without its share of issues, from glitches to lack of optimization, but the story/quests were fine, the characters were all pretty enjoyable, and most of the DLC was good. I think I picked up the complete edition for $20, so it definitely exceeded my expectations.

Same. I've played through most of the series at this point and XIII-2 is still one of the peaks. I totally get the points against it though, I just personally had a lot of fun playing it. That said, I don't like either of the other XIII games nearly as much.

I liked all of the Castlevania: Lords of Shadows games, even 2. I didn't LOVE them, but I thought they were all fun enough.

They're cool to hate now, but I still really like the Fire Emblem Fates trilogy. Conquest has a ton of fun maps in particular, and the cast for the three games is really big and varied. The story is horrible, but it's kind of bad in a good way.
