Texas man goes into vigilante mode in public and holds thief who stole his truck at gun point until police arrive. Thief retaliates with their own gun and a Wild West shoot out occurs resulting in the thiefs death. Police arrive and let the man go saying he should not have taken the law into his own hands and said it was self defense.

Some users on CE claim its perfectly acceptable to hold someone that stole from you at gun point and if pushed, they may kill the thief. Others think the killer should have let the police handle it since a vehicle is insured and no one had to die that day. Innocent bystanders could have been shot and confronting someone with a deadly weapon could have resulted in more injuries or deaths.

It was split in the last topic among CEs most left posters. That was surprising because you wouldnt think liberals would support gun violence or people dying. When it comes to stealing, all hats are off though. You had people claiming others were defending the thief and calling them insane. You had posters blocking each other over the debate.

I saw some insults hurled at people but those messages were probably deleted or you missed them. I bailed out when I thought it was getting too heated. I noticed it made it to 500 though pretty quick. Cant have a topic make it to 500 with a clean debate on this board lol.
