Board 8 > Welp, YouTube just deleted my project channel and no idea why.

Got an email that I was violating the deceptive practices and scam policy... it was a channel about opening trading cards so can't imagine what triggered it.
Wasn't huge by any stretch (approaching 3k subs) but god damn this is frustrating. Was just getting ready to launch a shop to kind of go along with it, fuuu.

Sent an appeal but I haven't heard anything but horror stories about working with YouTube support so my hopes are pretty low.

That is so annoying. I hope it gets overturned but yeah, YouTube's method for punishing channels seems terrible and random. They nuked my original channel over a decade ago.

I guess worst case you can start a new channel and try to regain momentum?

Starting a new channel, even if you got the word out to all 3k subs somehow, is still going to absolutely destroy everything the channel had going.

What do you mean by opening trading cards? Just unboxing? Or was there something more to it that could be somehow scammy?

It was a pack cracking channel, but insanely over the top to stand out in a crowded field with stats, rankings, and card values (also skeleton gloves because character!)

The shop was going to be related to the channel in that the cards opened on the channel would be the stock, and I'd direct people to the shop if they wanted to support the channel.
Hadn't put that into motion yet so that wasn't the cause of the deletion.
The whole project kind of started from always wanting to run a card shop, and thinking that if I had an active subscriber base to support the shop it would give it much better chance of survival. After a year of buildup was hoping to launch it this month -,-

Still up on TikTok at least, guess I'll try to grow that audience and go from there.

Hilariously enough the twitter account I made to do this ended up temporarily suspended, starting to think this project might be cursed. (I asked 2 questions to YT accounts and they were very politely worded!)
Setting up a replacement channel (with a name that kind of fits the site better, so yay?) and going to see if I'm able to claw back a few subscribers/try to get them to get the word out somehow.

Guess I really should not have put off setting up a discord so long, would have been so much easier to start recovering the channel with it.

Hah, I remember grabbing some of those .Hack cards back in the day! MM sounds fun, might hunt down a pack of those.
The channel was MTG focused and was thinking of branching off into other games, might take the opportunity to just be multi game based from the start.
