Does anyone actually feel comforted by talking to someone who gives responses that you could get just as easily by talking to a chatbot?

I appreciate that they're volunteers and don't have a ton of leeway, but I can't imagine anyone coming away from this feeling better.

I have not called a crisis line, but I called a poison control center. I told them that my mother had accidentally superglued her fingers together. They recommended nail polish remover. It worked well
