I've been reorganizing and realize I'm running out of usable space in one room. I tend to save some product boxes in the event if I plan on selling it at some point, but realize I'm probably not going to be doing that . Im thinking of just recycling them or using them to store stuff.

I completely understand keeping collectable packaging such as retro consoles, or special editions, but what about stuff over the past generation or 2 (360, xbox one versions, ps3/4 etc)? I don't think these gens are going to hold value like older stuff, and if any of these die I would just scrap them.

I'm curious what other people do.

I've kept most of my pc parts boxes

The only consoles I've bought was a ps4 and a Nintendo switch but I gave those away

I do keep mine. Another reason in addition to resale is in the event I move. I've not found a more secure way to move my electronics than in the original packaging they came with. Companies know everyone in the supply chain to the retail store to the delivery driver are going to bang the shit out of their stuff so they have to pack it well.

I even have the original boxes for my Def Tech tower speakers for this very reason.

That is a good point. When I moved it made it seemless.

Yeah, I always wanted to keep the boxes around. I don't think I have anything older than the GameCube still around, though, since my parents sucked and got rid of them when I was a kid.

Sure do. From a collectible and resale standpoint, it just makes sense. Theyre sitting in a storage unit currently holding mostly broken down game boxes, but I plan on bringing them all back home eventually.
