Some people don't understand we enjoy different things. As of this year, the lady and i have stopped trying to take all of our trips together. She really likes to travel and please people, whereas I find that all exhausting and I love being home. Thing is, based off what I read it seems like OP isn't getting a say and anytime they try to change it, it becomes "We took a vote and you lost". If they're old enough to vote, they should be old enough to stand on their own. If they can't stand in their own, they can find something to enjoy. Maybe OP can spend some time looking into kid friendly stuff to do for his destination- but it sounds like his suggestions are never even considered.
