I would certainly be fine with it if blue won. Just not going to risk my life.

I doubt many would have a problem with blue winning and the ones that would have blended into society long enough to keep their mouths shut.

In theory it does apply because The Joker was going to kill them all himself once time expired and Betray was the only means to survive.

I missed this part in the movie but it would make it more similar. You can't double betray in that scenario though which also messes it up. And yeah if you actually lived in Gotham you'd know that Joker would prob make it so you blow up when you press the button.

It's quite the opposite. Anyone picking red is completely and utterly lacking in imagination, foresight and reason.

The only entity that could actually administer such a test and follow through with the results is God or something equivalent. Either it's just a moral test, and nothing will happen either way, in which case you want to answer blue. Or this thing is actually willing to kill billions of people. Who's to say it will actually only kill those that picked blue, and not the opposite? Or just wipe out humanity altogether as a failed experiment. Or you get to live your finite lifespan if you pick red and then suffer in hell for all eternity. Etc etc.

The only rational choice is blue.

There are plenty of evil gods in fiction too. If Khorne asks this question, he'd probably slaughter the cowardly blues just for fun even if they won the vote!

ngl this was absolutely what i thought the joke was because "blue kills no one, red kills all blue if they win" is just way too blatant to be accidental

Press Blue: Non-zero chance of dying

I disagree, I think most people will see it the way it is written and aren't smart enough, or don't have a grasp of game theory, to think beyond that.

Press Red: some people die
Press Blue: no one dies

Not my fault if some people lack critical thinking skills. There is an objectively correct choice here, and that is to press red. Its the only one that has no risk to yourself and has the possibility to end with everyone alive. Blue has a possibility to end with everyone alive and risk to yourself. Its simple and easy math. 2 possible good outcomes > 1 possible good outcome.

Will there be people that pick blue? Yeah probably. But there are also people that choose to drive drunk, play with loaded guns, and lick rat poison and I dont feel bad about those deaths when they happen either.

Ultimately, voting for the winning option will have been correct. If it's red, you didn't throw your life away, and if it's blue, you contributed to saving half the world's population.
