Tbh there should be a set amount where legally if a mistake is made its yours.

Banks get away with so much exploitation and screwing people over with mistakes.

Whatever the average or median weekly paycheck is set it at that. One could reasonably believe at a quick check of their account that their paycheck came in a day early or something.

Most people don't take a microscope to their account regularly.

No big buisness wants to operate anywhere with pro consumer laws.

How do people not hear about all of the others times this sort of thing has happened and how those who took too much money out had to pay it back?

One time a bank over paid me 40-60 dollars in person. I didn't count the money though it felt a little more than usual. Something did seem odd. But I didn't count it they gave it to me. I was just ok thanks. This was earlier 2000s.

Somehow they found out they did. I think I got an e-mail or I don't remember but they said if you don't return the amount we over paid you we will take it from your account and I believe they did. It was so bizarre. Like how did they know relatively fast they over paid me? Must have been a slow day haha
