Get a Noctua cooler if you're going for a 2k+ build

I dont know American prices. The specs are good but I still prefer nvidia GPUs even now because they have better drivers

That CPU is probably going to eat the Hyper 212 alive

I'd probably ditch the 500 GB SSD and 2 TB HDD and just get a 2nd 2 TB SSD for about the same money.

What display resolution are you going to use?

That's like, not really the case anymore. People can confidently build AMD rigs now because their software great, and the drivers are just as good as nVidias.

I still run with nVidia though because I know where everything is and the names for all the stuff and how to fix any problem that comes up. If I weren't so lazy, I might grab AMD.

rn i game on a 1440p 144hz monitor. Primarily only had the 2.5 ssd and 2tb hdd for the boot and storage, the m.2 for gaming

I still have a 1 TB HDD on my current machine that I use for storage but it slows things down every time I do something that has to spin it up (such as going into the file explorer). My next build I'm definitely going all SSD if the relatively low prices continue to hold.

I'd say the GPU should be good for that resolution and refresh rate though.

You could just set it to never stop spinning. Speeds things up quite a bit.

I recommend the Thermalright Phantom Spirit (~$40-$48) or the older model, the Thermalright Peerless Assassin (~$35), iirc. If money ain't an issue go with Noctua or an AIO. The Thermalright is about the same cooling performance as the Noctua though for like half the cost.

I'd recommend the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120. Nearly as cheap as the Hyper 212, but much better cooling.

just the boot drive
This is a terrible idea. The NVMe drive should be your boot drive, and you shouldnt buy such a pitifully tiny SATA SSD. You should also never put a mechanical hard drive in anything thats not meant to be a server. A 2 TB NVMe drive by itself is fine if your internet is good, as you dont need 20 100 GB games installed at once.

The Hyoer 212 is a terrible cooler for a build that powerful. If you want an air cooler, get a Noctua one (preferably in chromax black so you dont have to see their poop brown and beige color scheme) or a beQuiet! Dark Rock Pro. If you can swing it though, Id recommend an AIO as it wont get in the way of your RAM and doesnt block your view of everything through the side panel window. Im partial to the new daisy chain tech Corsair just put out, or the one that Liam Li came out with first, as I hate dealing with fan cables and RGB cables and find their solutions much more elegant.

Power wise, as long as you can adequately cool it (which a Hyper 212 doesnt even come close to doing), that build should run anything you can throw at it just fine. If you can afford to throw $1000 at a GPU, dont cheap out in case and cooking. Phanteks has much better cases than that one. I have a P600A and love it, but I replaced the fans with Corsair ones and have a Corsair 360 AIO too mounted.

Better. If all you're doing is gaming, I still don't see why you need more than 2 TB of stroage.

For the cooler, also better... I just don't like air coolers. They're large, bulky, get in your way, and if the CPU spikes up (which Ryzen does all the time even at idle), the fans will want to spin up unless you set an aggressive curve to keep them from doing so.

With this https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/cpu-coolers/cw-9061003-ww/icue-link-h150i-rgb-aio-liquid-cpu-cooler-cw-9061003-ww the cable management is a single cable, and in iCUE you can set the cooler's fan curve to be based on the coolant temperature, so the fans won't spin up at all unless the CPU goes under a sustained load that raises the coolant temperature. This results in a dead silent system at idle if you set the curve correctly, and a quieter one under load because more radiator surface area means you don't have to run the fans as hard. I hate fan noise, so I'll gladly pay the extra money to have a quieter system and better control.

If you're dead set on an air cooler, I know for a fact that case will fit a NH-D15 as I used to use one in it, though you will have to clip one of the fans a little bit higher so it clears the RAM. That's arguably the best air cooler you can get.
