Former President Donald Trump now says he won't be holding a news conference next week to unveil what he claims is new "evidence" of fraud in Georgia's 2020 presidential election even though no fraud has ever been substantiated citing the advice of lawyers as he prepares to face trial in two criminal cases that stem from his election lies.

No compelling evidence of the wide-scale fraud Trump alleges has emerged in the two-and-a-half years since the election in Georgia or elsewhere, despite Trump's baseless claims. Republican officials in the state have long said he lost fairly and three recounts there confirmed President Joe Biden's win.

Surprise, surprise....

And all the Magats will give it a pass.

I was so looking forward to seeing his proof.

Personally, I think his goose is cooked in GA. If that doesn't get moved to federal court, they got him dead to rights.

It's cause 3 of his lawyers, Tacopenis, Trusty Rusty, and I forget the 3rd, straight-up threatened to quit if he did because he's already in trouble for spreading election lies and he was only going to add more and exacerbate his predicament.

This is a rare opportunity we're witnessing where Trump's lawyers successfully talk him out of shooting himself in the foot.

And yes, I am also bummed out about it.

I don't know that he ever intended to, or had a plan to go through with it. The way he bullshits nonstop and without any foresight he probably threw that out as an instinctual response like a cornered animal. Afterwards his legal team came in and told him to back off because the only thing this can do is make it worse for him. He knows he lost and any "evidence" is more flimsy than wet, cheap tissue paper. He's not crazy enough to believe he won, he's just corrupt and impulsively stupid.

Yeah promising to reveal something in the near future and not coming through his a classic Trump move.

There was one point I think late April early May 2020, where you could see his approval spike followed by a drop.

That spike was thanks to the covid team telling him that "packing churches on easter Sunday" is a bad decision and he actually listened to them and told people to stay home. Everyone thought wow he's actually taking this seriously.

But of course the next covid presser had him talking about injecting bleach and it was downhill from there.

It wouldn't get moved to Federal. The Constitution makes it VERY clear that States are in control of their own voting processes and election management. The defendant that Trump violated was the State of Georgia itself, and the laws he broke were the laws of Georgia.

Whatever happened with the "Data" Lindell had that he said if anyone could show it WASN'T proof of the election being rigged he would pay them $5 Million, and then some guy proved it was gibberish, went before an arbitration board (The contest said any disputes would be settled with binding arbitration), had the board say Lindell had to pay out, and then Lindell tried to take it to court. I haven't heard about that one in a while. I was kind of hoping he would present the same garbage lol.

I haven't seen any news articles on it since May, which was when the suit to enforce the arbitration award was filed. I'm also not authorized on PACER to get pleadings from that jurisdiction (Minnesota, I think? Not sure what federal district court jurisdiction), so I'm not able to get the scoop.

It can get moved to federal court, however the state laws would still apply and it'd be run as if it was a Georgia state case, so in effect it'd only be a change of venue and judge.

So everyone called his bluff and as expected he backed down like a bitch.
