Hip hop is super fun to play along to, but I have more exposure to rock Ive found musical influence (which I apply to everything) in rap, R&B, local exposure to lounge and street jazz, blues, marching band stuff (specifically from Mardi Gras parades), and even stuff like video game music. Also from 90s pop music. I dont commonly listen to most of that stuff now, but I cant deny the influence.
