did the "vote for my team logo scam" at me. Think the phisher was blocked

I said "no that's a scam" and closed my chat. Now they're not in my friends list, must have blocked me

Yeah, was just coming here to post about this. Got 2 messages on steam from different people on it within 10 minutes and one was mutual from CE.

Do NOT sign in to that site with your steam! Those sites are there to steal your login so they can take your accounts to steal more of them!

I didn't sign in, on their website. Feel dirty just looking at the URL, though. Might change my password anyway

Yup. Someone hacked my account and messaged about 20 people on my friends list.

Luckily I got a friend on discord who let me know right away.

Apologies to anyone who they contacted. I just went through my friend list messaging everyone about what happened and warning them.

Fuckers unfriended a few of my friends too which is pretty annoying.

Change your password, make sure steam guard's enabled and then check your friend's list. Might have a lot of people blocked. Unblock 'em, re-send friend requests and just message everyone letting them know what's up.

I can sign in on both PC and mobile. Did you sign into the fraudulent site using your Steam account?

Better prepare a statement in case steam locks your accounts to "investigate".

Strange that you can't sign in on the mobile app. At the very least it wouldn't hurt to change your Steam password anyway and enable Steam Guard if you don't have it already enabled.

Kind of scary how vigilant you have to be to avoid getting your stuff messed with sometimes. Whenever I download something that isn't from Steam these days the literal first thing I do is scan it. I remember a simpler time when I didn't worry about that as much. Then again, I did manage to bumble my way into ransomware when I was a kid, happened so long ago I don't remember how it happened or how it was resolved.

Yeah lol, it all started with me trying to change my password. All's good now :D

So that's what that's what that was about. Knew something felt off. Didn't log in, but am gonna change my password anyway.

Scammers REALLY like to target previous scam victims, so they may pose as steam to get more info out of you.

So if you see an Email asking to verify your personal info (address, phone number, secondary emails ESPECIALLY passwords and payment info) be extra cautious.

I recommend that anyone who WAS compromised to preemptively contact steam and let them know whats up.

How can steam accounts even get phished nowadays with the Steam Guard thing? I mean at the very least, don't you HAVE to do at least 2FA with your email

Steam guard is acting wonky, so don't feel "in the clear." Sent in a help request, and in for a long ass night watching my account. Do i have to log out of it? It keeps having verify account errors. (changed pass, but kinda deterred at the moment)

Gotta take the L - wasn't paying attention and messed up, but at least i have my account.

Edit: Got it working on my old smartphone looks like

It appears once you change your Steam password the mobile app won't log into your Steam account. To rectify this open your Steam mobile app, click the Steam Guard icon (the middle one), click the drop-down menu where your name is and select Add an account. It will ask you to sign in. Sign in using your existing account and the app will say that your account is connected to Steam Guard on another device. Migrate Steam Guard over to the device you're using and everything will work properly again.
