Vokrent 08/19/23 7:37:10 AM #1:	3 of us Dwarf Bard Githyanki Warlock Gnome Druid I respecced Shadowheart into an Oath of the Ancients Paladin and she's our 4th. we're in the druid grove and about to go rescue some druid leader guy from some goblins. that being said, i kinda feel like also playing a solo game. I don't like being a murderhobo, and i do like to diplomacy my way if i have the option. what would be a good character to start with and what party setup should i go with? --- Damned if I do, damned if I don't, damned if I will, damned if I won't, Doomed if I try, doomed if I fail, damn you all to hell. <cite>Vokrent posted [p:975537895] in playing Ba... Astarion isn't very fond of meddling, or helping people in general. He prefers to be a bit more mean and take advantage of people. Gale is more towards the opposite of Astarion. Make Wyll into a Pact of the Blade Warlock, so he helps with front line dps. Shadowheart make a Light or Life cleric for the heals. Gale can do offensive casting, and then shadowheart for support casting. Then honestly you could maybe make Astarion work as long as you don't care about his approval too much. Otherwise you'll need to respec someone else for utility. If you still want to respec shadowheart for utility for whatever reason you could do that and Gale or wyll for support casting while the other stays offensive casting. But it would probably be better to just keep her as support casting and respec someone else into utility. I'm not sure why I recommended Wyll at first in that group besides his generally good nature. If you need to find her there's some decent videos on YouTube, or you can get a quest from Wyll that leads you to her. (It might be best to not have him in the party when you pick her up though) If you still wanna go Paladin though, one thing you can do if you're comfortable with multiclassing is split the support duty between yourself and shadowheart while you muticlass Shadowheart between a Trickery Cleric and a Theif Rogue. My main guy is a bard and he does all the lockpicking and speech checks. Just sleight of hand he has bonuses between like 7-10. It's nuts. He's okay in combat but I use him more for buffing and crowd control.
