I basically grew up in one and was very social that way. In person though. I used to work at and managed a video game store called Babbage's all through high schoola dn college. I go into them now and they don't feel safe anymore. They are dead. I also can't stand strip malls and the stores around now. ALl the good stores that used to be in malls have been consolidated into Wal-Mart or people shop online. Even Babbage's was into gamestop. That explains my video game addiction. It actually was awesome working there. We could borrow games and try them out because they wanted employees to know about the games, Gaming was much more social that way. People used to get togehter and do all sorts of things. They still have shows and there is one store that still does stuff now. Probably why i can't stand youtube. I spent the rest of my life trying to get away from that stuff, although I went to school for CS but was always more social than that, when youtube it's people talking to a screen and it's all ego too.

Gaming culture does not bother me that way. I've been around these people my entire life. Different generation but it's still teh same people. Just working more professional jobs now.

There's only one mall near me that's not 99% dead, and even then I usually only go around Christmas

Not in a long ass time, the ones nearby to me have all died and been repurposed.

Yeah, closest movie theater is in one.

Only when there's something specific I need to buy from a specific store.

The place I buy my boots and pants is in my local mall. I just go in, buy what I came for and then leave. I don't care about browsing or going to any other stores.

All the good stores in malls are gone now and people. IT's pretty sad to see. Most stores are overpriced and window dressing because people just shop online. I used to meet so many people that way though. Wal-mart is terrible. People in that place have the social accumen of whatever it is. They have literally stripped away anything human whatsoever. You can't even go into these places and ask a question. They just look at you funny, don't know, whatever it is.

I used to go when I was a kid to an arcade there. I remember the lines for Mortal Kombat and Street fighter were long. They local ones by me are still busy but there's been two that have shut down.

Theres a food place at the mall near me that I go to sometimes. Id probably go there if I went clothes shopping, but I do that infrequently.

The internet basically is the new mall for a new generation. It's a bubble that needs to be popped some of these people too.

I worked in tech support too and it's funny that way. People out there I don't know sometimes. I used to really try to help people too but you meet all sorts of people. The egos on some of them. Some of them do not know of what they speak. There is way too much of that out there in general because of the internet and people judging everything when they do not know of what they speak.

I love malls. There are a few near me. Two of them are clearly dying, but one is doing really well and always has a good crowd.

I go to the one mall here that has a Lego store, the mall itself is usually fairly busy

Malls were better than the internet because it was face to face and people were just nicer overall back in the day. Although there were always people but even that was different. The internet anyone can pretend to be anything they want to be when they don't always know what they are talking about.

The one where I live is actually still alive and well (I live in a rural south carolina town which is one of the main reasons its actually still thriving. There isn't all too many areas you can go to if you are say a older person and wanted to walk around for some exercise. A lot of our neighborhoods can of has that "people don't keep their dogs on a leash and most of these is some kind of pit mix" problem, =/).

I haven't actually been in there myself in like 3 years though. We had a 3rd gamestop in there, so when this gamestop was shutting down I swung by to get some of those games on clearance.

Literally just got back from my local one. It's still booming.

People say they chill on this lovely world i sometimes wonder if that's true. They seem to have issues with quite a bit. I know i do. How i even see the world and what people assume I"m even doing. I was like a jock/nerd when iw as younger. I played sports too and was just more social. I wasn't closed off from the world by any means. These people doing the judging i really wonder if they ever even played sports. People act all chill but are they? I never thought a bad thing about anyone really overly is the thing. The hating on the haters and everything. I can be really nerdy or i can be not nerdy at all. I went to school for CS and just liberal arts and I like that stuff. I also like sports. Probably why i haven't killed anyone yet. I don't mind people talking about different things. It's not really my issue at all if i even have one. They do it then if you do it they have an issue with it.

I usually think people are good people and would understand what I'm saying because I don't have these issues that much. I'm usually surrounded by good people and think people have some sense. That can cause issues when you think people are that and they just aren't getting it.

There's nothing I can get at the mall that I can't get online cheaper. Last time I went we had drinks at Ruby Tuesday then I spent $300 on a leather jacket I ended up wearing twice before deciding I didn't like it.

I used to like looking at all the weird stuff in Spencer's and hit the music store. I've grown out of Spencer's and buying music so no point.

No, not really. There's only three actual malls remaining in my city and I've only been to one of them in last 5+ years and that's only because there's a movie theatre in it.

I hate explaining things like I said. I do it because I've been made to do it, because people if I'm just myself it's ridiculous. It takes the fun out of everything. They do it but if i do it i'm wrong for some reason. The internet is bad that way. There are control freakish people out there who have no clue what they are doing to someone. I have to be the better person which is bullcrap anyways. I don't want to be that.

I don't go to the mall proper much, but there are some standalone restaurants and Home Depot that are part of the mall complex.

Not very often. My citys mall doesnt have much that interests me other than occasionally running into the shoe store or something. They closed down Macys, which was one of the only places to buy clothes in person. Theres a movie theater there, but I literally have one in my neighborhood, so I would rather go there.

Imo there's been a resurgence for the ones that improved their selection of retailers.

I like it and I don't. It's cool that another generation can can make their own memories out of it. However as an adult I hate to cross paths with their cahoots.

Malls are still thriving and busy here in New Zealand. There's some online retailers here but they haven't completely taken over retail the way that Amazon has in the US. Amazon has basically been kept out of NZ unless you order stuff like DVDs and a few other things, and they ship from overseas so it's super expensive.

There's a damn solid Italian restaurant not too far from me in a mall in Skokie, if that counts.

The local movie theater is attached to the mall, so I technically do visit the mall every once in a while.

Yeah I go to the movies 2-3 times per week and the AMC is at the mall. Either before or after the movie I do a lap around the mall so my fat ass has at least a little exercise. I'm a fucking mall walker.

I love visiting malls.

A few times per year. Northpark Center in Dallas is nice and healthy. I go to Nordstrom to get dress shirts and I like to eat at Eataly there and browse some of the other stores.

I used to basically live at the mall when I was a teen. It was the hangout place for all the emo/scene kids and I was pretty much king of the emo/scene kids way back when. My mall wasn't even that good either, but it was nice to be able to hangout somewhere we could meet people, do stuff, and so on. I miss hanging out at the mall so much.

No one hangs out at the mall anymore, but they are adding a lot of cool stuff to it.
