Use the app to maximize getting on stuff with the least wait times.

You can probably skip the majority of the older coasters. Some of them kinda hurt to be on and are a bit rickety. Also skip the mine cart coaster too.

But it's easily the park with the best coasters, no question. Have fun!

Ok well I guess just make sure you looked at the map and know where youre headed?

The park is a huge plaza at the front and a loop around a lake at the back and Coasters are everywhere except on the middle left side of the loop

I had no idea. Lol It seemed a bit more modern than the rest. It felt like a kid's ride though disguised as a proper coaster.

I wish! Charon is too terrified to take me! He could barely do half the rides at Carowinds. That's right, I'm putting you on blast, sweetie. To be fair to him he did not grow up going to Six Flags, Disneyworld, and Universal Orlando/Islands of Adventure like I did so I guess it's not entirely his fault he's scared of thrill rides.

Well, I would normally say to do them anyway because roller coasters rule, but I'm saying this because there are SO MANY roller coasters there, and you'll be pressed for time to go on all of the better ones, so I would prioritize those!

I still regret not being able to go on that new wooden hybrid coaster they just built because we wasted time with the older ones.

I would say very. You'll feel like you're going at a good pace at first, but then as the day goes on, the wait times get a lot longer. And then surprise maintenance on some rides happens too.

I'm sure they have at least one other new coaster too since the last time I went too, so you'll probably have even more crunch.

Roughly 2 hours wait times for coasters.
Possibly 30m with fast pass.

Maverick was my favorite - Steel Vengeance I've heard is very good. Millennium Force is like the country's first giga coaster.

Yeah im curious as to the actual scale of the park. This can determine how much it is actually worth it to walk at opening hours when lines are shortest.

They have 18 roller coasters, and because of that, the park needs to be pretty enormous to hold them all. So it's a little bit of a hike. But I think it's worth it, especially to get on Steel Vengeance early, since that one always has long wait times.

From the gate back to Steel Vengeance is probably about a mile and a half? Not a ton of width but like I said, it forks halfway in.

I used to be pretty scared of roller coasters when I was a kid but something changed in my brain when I was like 12. I think I realized that all I had to do was just sit down.

It's not like I'm jumping out of a plane or bungee jumping, just have to be brave enough to sit down.

Safety record for coasters is extremely good. Safety is in fact first priority to making sure guests keep flowing in.

Once you realize that and then get enthralled by how cool it is that we made coasters that can do all this cool shit they are an easy sell.

When I went in 2003, Raptor was my favorite coaster. I was lucky to ride that one twice because everything else was a 2-hour wait.

Millennium Force was great but didn't live up to the massive hype. Magnum XL-200 was good. I think I rode Mantis and loved it, but my memory's shaky.

Top-Thrill Dragster (at that point the fastest/highest coaster on Earth) was shut down that day due to some knucklehead injuring himself after sticking his hands in the air.

I really want to go back someday. Awesome theme park.

Keep a bagel or PB&J in your cargo pocket.

And, yeah, the only downside to Cedar Point is that it's virtually impossible to do everything in one day with the lines being so long.

Raptor hasn't been opened for a couple days at least not counting on it.

Top thrill dragster has a smaller variant at knotts that had to close after the incident with TTD. Both should be reopening next year.

Magnum to me is the platonic ideal of a roller coaster. Large first hill, steep drop, one cool element with the tail loops, and other than that just tons of bunny hills for lots of airtime experiences

Corkscrew for me is the one that smacks my head around the most. But once youve ridden it enough you kinda learn when and how to brace yourself and it makes the experience better. You want to relax your body and let the ride take you where it wants to, but you also want to keep control of your neck muscles and NOT let the ride take your head where it wants to.

Learning how to ride each coaster is underrated and probably impossible as an infrequent visitor on a busy day.

Go on a weekday in May and you can easily get 50+ rides in

Yeah this is definitely a thing. It takes 3 to 5 rides to kind of grasp head positioning and weather you need to relax or try to hold into a specific position. And the big thing is whether to keep your head back or if a slight lean forward is preferable.

Going to disagree with all the people suggesting Magnum, here. Magnum is the definition of "we want to murder our guests".

Maybe they've redone the track since I last went, in 2009? But that was the absolute worst coaster I have ever ridden. And I rode Son of Beast when it had shaky issues!

Does it have any inversions though? Orion does, and has those little lap crescents.

And a slow first hill ascent. Gets me so anxious.

Conversely, Velocicoaster and Hulk at Islands of Adventure are both launching starts and that absolves like all the fear I would have of those coasters.
