I pronounce it, and I'm aware that I sound like a tool because literally nobody else does. :-\

And typing this made me realize that probably well over half of the English-speaking population says "per-nounce" instead of "pro-nounce." Those damn "r"s.

This. Although, maybe I've heard some folks with a pronounced Black English dialect saying it that way. When someone has that sort of speaking style, I don't question their pronunciation; I just roll with it.
