Jayden Daniels is really, really gunning for the Heisman and good for him but it's making me sad. I really, really need this one. Washington isn't even close to ever having a Heisman winner (nobody even in the top 3) and LSU just had one so please just let me have this one, please

I said this back in 2015 but nobody wanted to listen lol
Then he went and beat Ohio State the following year with a stacked offensive team (With some luck thrown in)....and I kinda then knew we would be in it for the long haul.

These days, it's either a blowout win or lose to Michigan and Ohio State. Nothing in between (Outside of the bowl game). It's comical I almost don't want to watch the games because you just know what will happen.

Normally I don't really believe these types of narratives - but good lord it is depressing just how inevitable it was that penn state would win every game but lose to ohio state and michigan. I mean I don't have a horse in the race, but I know the pain of following a team that you know will win all the games it's supposed to but be unable to take the next step. it's weirdly much worse than watching a team scrap out a 6-win season and go to a crappy bowl because you just stop even caring

The hope for Penix is that Daniels will get dinged for losing too many games, especially if Washington goes undefeated or LSU loses another one.

Still not sure why. Trying to get "to the next level" is only possible with the right head coach. Wouldn't surprise me if they had a huge downturn with a new guy at the helm.

They cant downturn too much more than they are now! Unless they hire a terrible coach.

Maybe Jim Harbaugh would like to move to a conference that is less punitive?

This move has been 2 or 3 years in the making. I don't think there was anything Jimbo could have done this year to salvage his job short of making an SEC Championship game.

Here are some fun facts about PSU over the last 2 years.

• PPG v Not Michigan // Ohio - 40.4 (19 games)
• PPG v Michigan // Ohio - 18.7 (4 games)
• The 18.75 is skewed by one game where we put up 31 last year but still lost by 13.
• Outside of Michigan or Ohio only one team held us to under 30 points, that was Northwestern last year (17). Still won by 2 scores.
• 18 of the 19 games have been won by more then 8 points. (16 over 2 TD, 13 over 3)
• The last time PSU finished a game scoring in the 20-29 point range was in 2021.

It's literally all blowouts or insufferable games lol.

Thank goodness Brian got fired by the interim AD. Cause otherwise Kirk would 100% be arguing that you can't fire the offensive coordinator when the team has made two straight big ten championships. And it would probably work.

Iowa has a great defense, but taking sloppy seconds from an arch-rival for your QB isn't exactly the way to win a championship.

The Big Ten West sucks royally and I say that as someone whose team is in that shit pile. At least we won last night and get to go to a third-rate bowl game. The Cornshuckers... their fate is in the hands of Iowa, and whether resting starters or denying a rival a bowl is more important.

What makes you think Ferentz is trying to win a championship?

We literally have an offense where the goal for most drives is not to score points but just to get far enough that the punter can put the defense at a good starting point. That is the official strategy of the offense per Kirk and Brian. They only really try to score when the D/ST starts them with great field position.

But yeah Iowa is here because they only had to play one ranked team all season. And that team destroyed them.

I wonder if they'd still have Tulane ranked ahead of Liberty if there was a playoff berth at stake there. I hate Liberty, but denying an unbeaten team a title chance even with an expanded playoff just seems off.

Imagine if Alabama beats Georgia, Oregon beats Washington, Texas wins the Big XII, and FSU wins the ACC and nets a quality win over Louisville

Unbeaten FSU isn't going to miss the playoff. But if they struggle in their next two games, a one loss PAC 12 champ might jump them for #3.

The committee has never left out an undefeated team for a one loss team and it's not going to start now.

If their QB wasn't done for the year, sure, but I don't see any way they let an unbeaten FSU in with a crowded field unless they were to somehow trample Florida and Louisville back-to-back.

Looking forward to next year. Obviously could have won a lot more games this year, but truthfully Huskers don't have a lot of talent so all these mistakes that cost them probably like 3 wins this year are at least understandable. Only one mega blowout loss(Michigan) this year. Better than Frost. Looking forward to year 2 of Rhule.

The schedule isn't actually too bad next season so it isn't impossible if they get a competant OC and Cade is healthy again.

But yeah he now doesn't get to hide behind weak schedules to boost his record to a bowl game almost every year.
