I tend to read long series, stuff that has been out awhile and has a number of books in them. Wealthy donors class people and moneyed PACs will buy up books in large quantities, and its not too hard to simply get a book on the best seller list for one week. Going forward, that right wing author can appear on mainstream media shows as "New York Times Bestselling Author" - and technically it's true!
