Can we take a moment to point out that Punk is 100% correct that doing spots and angles with real glass is fucking stupid?

I feel like that's being lost here in a crusade to be mad at Punk. Even if you hate CM Punk more than you hate Joesph Stalin and believe CM Punk has started more fights than Hockey Riots can you still admit he's right about the glass?

Why the fuck do you need to fall through or hit/stab each other with real glass? That doesn't make you tough or the show better. It makes you a moron.

That's true. But wrestlers don't feel it's another wrestler's place to tell them what spots they can't do, especially if they're not a part of the segment themselves, and are being all condescending about it (Punk reportedly accused Perry of just wanting to do a dangerous spot that week so that he wouldn't have to work next week, and suggested that if he didn't like it being shut down he could get off the show entirely).

If it was just a company policy nobody would say anything. If it's a wrestler asserting himself above you when you've been there longer, fuck that.

Especially when the glass spot does just as much damage in kayfabe as if a suplex was instead done in the ring. If you absolutely feel a need to do a dangerous spot, make it count for something. Dont make it move 23 out of 38 in the match.

If it wasnt for the fact that this move became

I'm sort of the same way. Never cared for Punk that much before. He's dealing with a big clique. A clique that has their own propaganda outlet (Meltzer) and has a rabid fanbase. It's almost like middle/high school shit.

I'm sure he's not totally innocent and has instigated or at least made worse of some things, but I find myself agreeing with him more than not and I can't blame him for being pissy over some of his coworkers being snotty.

The biggest problem is Tony. He needs to squash all of this.

My issue with CM Punk is that he feels like he has the right to comment on other people's decisions (like what he did with Jack Perry) and take unneeded potshots at other wrestlers on TV when they can't respond (like what he said about Hangman that was part of what eventually led to the Brawl Out situation) but as soon as someone else does the same back to him, suddenly it's a big problem and he has to confront them about it.

He's a massive hypocrite. The other parties in these situations aren't blameless by any means, and Tony Khan needs to grow some balls and take control of the locker room before things boil over even more. But CM Punk is the common thread and the main person causing these situations to escalate.

I like Punk as a wrestler, and I'm not even going to attempt to defend his shitty behavior at this point. Keeping him around isn't worth the backstage trouble anymore. Hell, I thought he was already not worth it after Brawl Out, but Tony Khan still brought him back.

CM Punk is getting baited hard. Its obvious that The Elite, Jericho, most of the big names want him gone. Its getting easier and easier for Punk to fall into the same groove as the Brawl Out.

Controversy creates cash. Sounds like its more reality era bullshit at play. The more these type of events play out the more eyes are drawn to AEW week-after-week.

It was an internal thing nobody else knew about, and then word started hitting dirtsheets that Punk was getting people kicked off of/banned/whatever from the show he was on because he didn't like them or who they were friends with, and then to try to counter that heat somewhat, he, himself, went to the dirtsheets and told the glass story, while embellishing it and even lying about it (He said the guy in question wanted to hurt himself to avoid working the next week, when in reality he was already scheduled for a vacation.) That's what made the other guy mad in the first place.
