i don't think of CYCM as one of my favorites, but i really enjoyed its clean simplicity here, especially over database's kind of... messy sound.

disliked wiseman theme quite a bit while the spice and wolf theme was quite pretty

First match is an instance of great song with forgettable animation vs catchy song with cute animation. More into the latter but I like classic magical girl stuff. The second one, I was all about Wiseman Theme for the first ten seconds, but it wore out its welcome pretty fast so Spice and Wolf basically won by default.

Rough second match. I would've voted for Wiseman no Theme over either in the first match. I can't deny that Log Horizon's OP is energetic, but it wasn't for me.

Huh, forgot database looked that good. Great combination of animation and music. Catch You Catch Me has an awful chorus.

Wiseman reminds me of the Needless ED. That was 100x as good though. Would've probably voted it in a few matches. Tabi no Tochuu I mostly remember for the great song, let's see if the animation holds up... Well, it's not amazing, but it does create a good mood. Still, I think the first half is the best part. Make this a 1 minute OP and it's truly excellent.

DATABASE DATABASE JUST LIVING IN THE DATABASE, yea the animation is fairly standard for an isekai fantasy OP but the song just sells it. Also Nyanta is too good. Catch You Catch Me is about as spot on for Cardcaptor Sakura as you can be, she ust ain't living in the database.

Wow, what a fun ED! Wiseman Theme is super fun and upbeat without being annoying, fun visuals too. Tabi no Tochuu is fuckin gorgeous though, what a match. Wiseman takes it by a little for me.

I don't really like anything about database and I've never gotten the love for it. I guess I don't really have a problem with the visuals, but I can't stand the song and the visuals at least fail to do anything to make up for it. For Catch You Catch Me I like the cute style of the song a lot. Very pleasant OP.

Tabi no Tochuu is my 2nd favorite OP of all time, and since my my 1st died to RNG at 3 nominations I guess this is my darling of the contest. Gorgeous vocals--especially the harmonized section--and the visuals really give off the feeling of going on an adventure through the unknown. Random thing and I don't know why, but I really love the section where the rolling coin transitions into rolling wagon in time with the piano notes. Very cool effect. On the other hand, Wiseman Theme is is a very fun OP all around and I think it works pretty well also, but as the above might suggest there was very little chance of my ever voting for it in this match.

I do like database, but MAN WITH A MISSION songs usually need a little extra oomf to really get me... which database doesn't really have lol. If this were Platinum here I could be talking about my favorite OP/ED in the entire contest!!! But it's not, (actually edit: i totally forgot eternal blaze made it so it wouldnt be anyway lmfao oops) so I guess I have to talk about CYCM instead grumble grumble it's great!! One of the things I'll always admire greatly about Cardcaptor in general is that it finds the literal perfect amount of "cutesy" to be, it's definitely there but turned up just enough to avoid being overbearing. And CYCM is one of the shining examples of how that's done to me. It just makes you feel good! :)

god i always forget i actually watched fuckin last period lol, it was. a show. that's for sure! Wiseman is such a bop, I appreciate what Tabi no Tochuu does but the earworm wins out once again

I didn't like the song in the Log Horizon one, so it was an easy choice. The second match was also easy, but only because the Wiseman Theme is one of the best EDs ever.
