Oh, sure, I guess I can agree with that. Doomtrain mostly gets support because it's called Doomtrain and people find it somehow hilarious, though. As a summon I wouldn't even call it top 3 in its own game, maybe top 5. Summons aren't the only things people nominate and then fail to really support, though it is a very commonly shared experience amongst them for whatever reason.

if you want a summon who might do well, it probably needs to be unique to a specific game and being silly won't hurt

Yojimbo isn't particularly unique on the design front, nothing close to Anima's uniqueness anyway.

Zanmato and having to pay him to attack is what makes Yojimbo both silly and memorable, so I think he'd have better luck than Anima, at any rate (which isn't saying much)

That event in FF7 isn't a spoiler. It's on the back of some editions of official boxart, so by the GameFAQs definition of a spoiler, it doesn't need to be prefaced.
