Its the same in-universe reason that Superman/Captain Marvel/etc dont always show up to save the day, once you reach a certain level of power your planet stops being the only one that youre concerned with.

Also its not that Raymond E Feist is bad at writing women, its just that he doesnt

Every character gets married has at most 1 chapter with the woman and almost no dialog before they get married and then the wife stays behind in the castle never to be heard from again
