A friend of mine told me thats how she eats chicken and I was flabbergasted, appalled and down right disgusted. She said Yea. My family rinses the chicken then puts it straight into the oven.

Bro what?! That sounds fucking TERRIBLE

If you season it before, it just cooks off the flavor, everyone knows that.

Is this a question?
Though people have different habits.
I have a friend who is good with food, but mediocre with herbs.
And I have to politely show him how to make garlic bread at some point.

I'm offended by the poll's implication that salt & pepper alone are enough for something to be considered "seasoned."

People season meats after they're cooked instead of before? How are the flavors supposed to seep in?

I always season meat some hours before cooking

Ill usually only do salt and pepper on meat if its part of a dish where the seasoning or flavors are added later, or if its supposed to be simple. Stews and soups mostly.

I used to use dry rub, but I started soaking it in sauce overnight, and I like it so much more that way

Depends what you do with it

if I grill doing bbq fry rub, of course

if I bbq with actual bbq sauce, no because it gums up my grill

if I sear, no. I usually season the oil or butter for what I want and make a sauce out of it.

if I smoke the chicken, yes for sure.

Because of all the problems I have with my health, I literally just take chicken breasts out of the freezer and throw it on the bbq. I've gotten to the point where I can cook it without it going dry. The only thing I do is season my grill with a raw onion. That's it. I mean, I like it.

I cook most of my meals on the stove and just season it in the pan while it cooks.

Seasoning aside, no one should be rinsing chicken. It doesn't get rid of bacteria, just spreads it around your kitchen in water droplets.

Just cook it properly.

Salt and Pepper are not seasoning!

I know there have been tons of jokes about "bland caucasian cooking" but it is a wonder how rare spices like paprika, cumin, garlic powder and onion powder are used, to name some very basic ones.

Huh, I don't know if you are being sarcastic or unironically proving your point.

Yes, with the exception of poaching for salads maybe (Ill still use some peppercorns + herbs tbh, just no seasoning directly applied to the chicken).
