No worries! I have to sleep now. If tomorrow afternoon is Steiner time it's definitely possible but not certain. If it's NA time it's very likely.

Something like Blipbug seems likely.

I dont think I'm entirely happy with my list but also i'm tired so i sent it.

I would be disappointed if a legendary didnt finish last but people are weird.

No way that's happening. We've never had a legendary finishing last place in any of the previous Gen ranking projects.

I expect the fossils to do pretty well!

I expect Dracovish and Arctozolt to do well, but not sure about the other two. Arctovish in particular I think will do poorly.

i suspect that itll end up being Dracovish > Dracozolt > Arctozolt > Arctovish
dracovish is one of the most famous mons of the generation thanks to the anime and its competitive warcrimes, so I expect it won't be low

Why would Calyrex be in last place? Because it was locked behind DLC? I don't think it looks particularly bad or anything.

If anything, Spectrier and Glastrier - Glastrier especially - look pretty boring without Calyrex riding them.

a lot of people think it looks stupid, and also horrific competitive war crimes. I dont think itll be last though

for context, Calyrex-Shadow was the third mon to get banned to AG, after Mega Rayquaza and Zacian-Crowned. Zacian got heavily nerfed coming into Gen 9 (which also added several new Pokemon with Unaware that check/counter it) so it fell back into Ubers. Calyrex is still there.

I like both horses, because horses are cool animals. Spectrier will definitely rank higher than Glastrier in the final results for sure.

Regular Calyrex is also very terrible competitively. The fusion forms are much better competitively.

I wasn't even thinking about fused Calyrex for my rankings, since it's similar enough to the horses that you could just rank the horses.

Wait what Arctovish was my highest ranked one (at like 80-something mind you) and the closest to being decent. I actually kind of liked it until I realized his head was upside down because it looks like it has a big goofy smile

I said this in my writeup, but the stupidest thing about these mons is that they were created by the scientists of the Pokemon world. And they legit thought that that was how they were supposed to be put back together.

Is... any education required to become a scientist in the pokemon world or can you just say "fuck it, I'm a scientist!" and boom, it's done. What fucking idiots would think that the fossils would be put together that way?!

It's supposed to be cute and played off as a joke, but it just makes me think that everyone in the pokemon universe is a complete and utter moron.

While it's anachronistic, I believe that since Galar is meant to be based off of Britain, the fossils from the Galar region are meant to be based off of old British paleontologists mixing and matching fossils from different creatures to unknowingly create a new, false creature.

so the scientists are stupid because they're british?

in their slight defense, they only have one half of each of them for some reason

so its not like there are obvious pairings for these fossil halves. they just have four bad options.

Yeah, this is exactly it. It has a solid lore standing and I think it's a great concept and twist on the fossil Pokemon.

I guess they could have done something about the anachronism, but like.... gen 1 already gave us Bill and his unhinged experiments, how is this any weirder?
