I havent paid it any mind until the Las Vegas construction began

I've been reading about the impact it's having. Locals are getting fucked, closures are making their lives hell, they're paying extra, venues are getting straight up destroyed, and the people working are apparently working 12 hour days (spoilers, it's hot out there) because there's still so much left to do.
