Finally got this one done. This platinum was unobtainable from launch only until just recently because of the battle hub tournaments. The very first one they ran back in June crashed the game and they took them offline until pretty much just last week where they solved the issue and have been running about 3 tournaments a day since then.

It's nice to see Street Fighter has recovered under a new vision after SFV damaged the brand as much as it did. Even if it was a pretty good game by the end of its run, the damage had already been done with that initial launch and exclusivity to one platform. 6 came out strong out of the gate with a complete single player mode where you make your own avatar and play through a story in the world of Street Fighter as well as the traditional arcade mode and all the training and online modes you would expect out of a modern fighting game. The Battle Hub is rad and offers you the ability to play not just normal games with people, but to fight with your avatar against others avatars or even play classic Capcom games if you need a break. There's even a new Modern control scheme that lowers the barrier of entry for newcomers. While it does less damage over Classic controls, they allow you to instantly react to what your opponent is doing allowing you access to the mind games aspect of fighting games much faster since you don't have to worry about your inputs as much. I liked using them for characters I wasn't familiar with to see how they played and I found myself sticking with them for those characters and using the Classic Controls for older characters I was used to.

The trophy list is weird because it's actually 3 separate trophy lists. All the single player content and Ranked/Training modes are actually not required for platinum, only things that happen in the Battle Hub. Of course I completed all those trophy lists as well, but if you're looking only for the platinum all you actually to worry about is:

• Using all the various Battle Hub features '
• Winning 30 Battle Hub matches
• Winning 20 Extreme Battles
• Winning 20 Avatar Battles
• Fighting in 100 matches
• Gaining 600 likes either ones you give out yourself or ones you get from others
• Compete in 5 tournaments and win 10 matches in those tournaments.

Overall a great game with tons of a variety. They've made a lot of cool new characters and smart changes to pre-existing characters that make them feel fresh again along with more characters coming out soon. Definitely a game to get into if you're a fan of fighting games or are maybe looking to get into one for the first time.
