here we go fam. the finale for this series play through. with the blue bomber anyway. i do have the zero collection. also how is it the ps2 games are causing larger screenshots? figured they'd be about the same since they're...you know...screenshots...

The PS2 games are ran at a higher resolution in general I believe.

In general X8 is one of the more underrated X games imo, and like I said before it totally has the best final boss battle in the series.

If you ever get sick of grinding currency then there is a way to completely cheese that via buying the part that generates money when you are walking. You buy that part, load into the intro stage, go find a rubber band or whatever else that keeps your character walking to the left or right, and just go to sleep/watch TV/play another video game/etc. AFK walking will have that money maxed out in like 2 hours or whatever.

X8 probably has the best maverick names in the series.
Gigabolt Man-O-War might look like a dispenser that sells early game power ups in an RPG but he'll always have that name propping him up.

hey i'm two for six on guessing weaknesses. the ride chaser part was difficult but kinda fun since it reminded me of the speeder levels from super star wars.

Burn Rooster was my least favorite maverick to fight on replays. There's something patronisingly slow about him standing there, taking no damage and slowly setting the walls on fire. The level's a whole bunch of auto-scrolling too.

The Yeti's auto scrolling too but at least it's fast paced. Man-O-War can actually be a really short level if you play it well too. Rooster? Has neither propping it up.

The auto scrolling and the blind spikes were a bit of a pain and I gotta back in for rare metals. Same with gravity antonion. That room with the spiked blocks going up and down suck. Took me a few time starting the whole level over to finally get them figured out.

The art change was a bit jarring but I guess they had to do something when working with the lower resolution of the GBA.

Unless they plan on making another X game and having him hide himself while he tried to repair himself, that's the end of Big Sig.

I liked him being around. All the different costumes. pretty solid theme songs, less talking more action. He's almost like a fighting game villain in that he mostly stays in the back until the very end where he jumps out ready to throw down.

Not outright dumping on Lumine by the way. That second phase has some really cool moves and the song is great in case you were focusing on the gameplay more than it.

Yeah the lumine fight was pretty interesting. Actually died a couple times in it. Though I guess going on to zero would be the next logical step. I played a bit of the collection last year and got through the first game and, I think, about half way through 2.

I did a NG+ on hard mode. I read on the tv tropes page that it apparently adds a couple scenes? Can anyone verify that?

Yeah there's something I can think of that changes. It's not a big thing though.

I think Vile at the end changes based on difficulty. If it's on easy, you keep both partners, if you turn the difficulty up then only the character that landed the last hit on Vile goes on. The partner you lost reappears in the Sigma fight.
