Still a better deal than a lot of sub places. At least here you get to watch them make it, and have full control over what they put on it and heat it up or not.

Its dumb because a foot is too much sandwich anyway, and a six inch isnt enough

120 sporks for 14 cents less is a decent deal vs 100 for forks or spoons

They have BOGO footlongs every once in awhile so it ends up being more like a $7 footlong which isn't too bad by today's standard. I've had it a couple times this year and it was better than I remember it being years back with not being so skimpy on toppings as they used to be (but might just be my local store)

Yeah jersey Mike's used to be the "expensive" sub option. Now subway is like the same price. And Mike's is a hell of a lot better.

That's nothing. I was at Togo's yesterday and their large (which is smaller than Subway's) was $10 or more pretty much across the board, some as high as 15.

Here's what you do. Order a burrito bowl, ask for 2 flour tortillas on the side. You'll get a crap ton more food and it will be a fraction of the cost.

Subway just had a BOGO footlong deal for two weeks, got two subs for $11 total with tax.

Now their current promotion is buy one get one 50% off.

So if you buy one footlong for $13, the other one will be $6.50?

That's almost 20 bucks!

I just went last week, got a black Forrest ham footlong. I usually get coupons every few months that has one for any sub for $7.99 excluding some subs.

Even a roast beef sub is only like $11 which still isn't bad for a footlong

There's a local franchise in my city and some other places in the east coast (Primos) that is up to $16 for a 8 inch meatball sub. Comes with 4 small meatballs on it. Their signature, an old world italian, is $17. Prices vary per franchise but I'm not driving around price shopping a hoagie.

I used to get just 6" ham & cheese ones on the standard bread for about 3 this was going back 8 year ago. I then stopped eating them as didn't like the roll anymore.

Just about the last 6 months I went back and wanted to try the Meatball Marinara one and I was hooked, have it on the Hearty Italian bread.

Most expensive burrito you will see around here is $12

shit, these days, two tacos from a sit down mexican place is almost 10 bucks. two tacos.

you can't get anything decent for $5 unless you're big on cheap value fast food. and even then, you're talking one or two tiny ass hamburgers that are mostly bread.

Taco Bell has a few $2 burritos that are pretty damn good. Chipotle grilled chicken, cheesy beefy crunch, and 7 layer veggie, if I remember correctly. They're pretty heavy, too. Two of them fills me up, and I'm a big guy.

Subway is ridiculously overpriced for what it is.

The $5 price was literally the only thing that made that place even remotely edible. If they are actually charging $13 for a sandwich these days, I can't imagine they are doing very well as a business.

I wouldnt eat at Subway if it was free.

Why dont you ask for more? With the exception of the meat, you can get as much of the other stuff (like veggies) as you want

I keep seeing people praise Jersey Mike's so every few months I try it and every time it's absolutely awful. I've even tried different locations.

Subway, with workers that gave a shit, helped me survive college for a bit. $5 foot long chicken or Italian, gone to town with the free add-ins, double toasted. I would look forward to Tuesdays and Thursdays because those were the only days I could eat. That was me with a 2-3 hour commute each day to school and trying to keep up with cycling.

I think a Subway with employees that give a shit is still decent value, but $5 FL was a golden era in food consumer society. It was enough food without being as questionable as what other places put in meals. We might never see anything like it ever again.

Subway has always been ass. It's just now it's $13 and no one wants a shitty sub sandwich for $13. For $5 it was fine.

This wouldn't be so bad if wages rose with prices.

They're not being bought out by Jimmy Johns themselves, they're being bought by the private equity firm that owns Jimmy Johns and like fifty other places.

Its been years since I ate there. Even a $5 sandwich never seemed like a good deal to me, and we realized that it was way unhealthier than they told us (the bread is classified as cake in the UK). The entire sandwich meal for $5 might have been more appealing to me.

I know its a tough transition, but I really wish people would temporarily just stop eating fast food in protest. We dont need it. I survive without it, so anyone else can. The problem is that the general public actually could fix this price gouging issue, but they wont because theyre too lazy to stop feeding an abusive corporation who steals wages and short staffs workers until they drop. But hey, I guess its easier than cooking, so

7/11's subs and sandwiches are actually pretty damned good, and they're like $5-7

5 dollar footlongs havent been a thing in almost 15 years. and even then it was just the shitty ones like veggie or pizza

What's really bad about subway is that if you have a picky eater to buy for (like a girlfriend/wife/kid) and all they want is meat, cheese, and maybe some lettuce. Maybe it's like this at other sub places too, but it really stands out at subway since they use a thin layer of meat.

You end up with a almost nothing on a big, cheap, loaf of bread and it's STILL like $10.
