You would think this would be common sense, but youd be shocked how frequently people leave their insurance card at home and then get mad when they dont get any prescriptions for free.

you don't *really* need the card. it just makes things quicker. they can always just look up your name/ssn/bdate to check your insurance

Not all insurances pop up on eligibility check.

Its always in my wallet. Every year my Drs office always checks it against their computer system. My pharmacy hasnt asked to see my insurance card in 25 years. Any new dr or office I go to asks to see it.

Usually your insurance will send you a letter if somethings changed. When in doubt, you could always call your insurance.

Or youd find out when the pharmacy runs your insurance and they come back with a COVERAGE TERMINATED 8/31/23 reject.
