  • I have long hair. Hats keep it in order or even hide the fact that I did absolutely nothing to tidy it today. Hell, the opening at the back of baseball kaps is a makeshift band for ponytails.
  • Just because I'm indoors doesn't mean I'm warm enough.
  • You kinda make it sound like hats are an inconvenience people tolerate for outdoor reasons. Many people actually like hats and the way they look in them, and thus, are not looking for an opportunity to take them off.

Ideally hats should be off indoors, which means if you're at an outdoor picnic your hat is a-okay at the table.

My great aunt used to make me remove my hat at the table. Some professors would also do it in college but I was like fuck you I'm paying to be here. I'll cover up my greasy just-rolled-out-of-bed hair if I feel like it.

But yeah it's dumb. I don't think women were ever expected to remove their hats when it was fashionable.
