Every game since that movie came out has been about trying to recreate its flashy combat at the expense of everything else. The amount of resources spent on recreating that combat could've been used for so many more substantial things. Thanks Nomura.

It also disrespected the creators vision for the ending of ff7.

spirits within might have killed square, and is a terrible movie in a lot of ways, but Ill still take it over AC. At least it was original and didnt shit all over a loved game,

AC is awful because they retroactively (and set the future path) for fucking up 7

It also shit on every character and truned them into caricatures of themselves. Literally the only reason people keep claiming Cloud is an emo douche. Thankfully they didnt go that route in remake

The series was kinda dead until Advent Children. I disagree.

Those same people also don't understand what survivor's guilt is either so, yeah.

Cloud in Remake barely qualifies as a person also. The dev team said they made him act like a baby on purpose. I think Remake ruined Cloud more, personally. At least after AC Cloud goes back to being a badass in DoC.

That was my most hated part of the dub. I saw the subbed version at a friend's house long before the dub came out and comparing the two that particular line just killed the scene.

Yes, but when he gets his actual personality back to the end of the game it's only a few days. 2 years after the end of the base game is a long time for those thoughts to start creeping in. Trauma doesn't always work the same for everyone. He starts having a happy life with Tifa, Denzel, and Marlene and then he starts feeling guilty he survived while Aerith and Zack didn't, plus he and his adopted son are diagnosed with incurable space cancer. That seems like a pretty normal route for trauma to start setting in.

I think the point was that he WAS basically a baby since he had just awakened from his mental trauma and had to relearn how to be a person. Which I thought they did a good job of.

At least FF7 Remake is making everything better again

He doesn't need to relearn how to be a person because the Jenova cells filled that in for him using his memories and Tifa's. It's the whole explanation of that plot point.
