A bit tangential but a (very old) Law and Order episode had a family refusing treatment for their child because of the belief "God doesn't make mistakes". As I've said a couple of times: I find it "odd" that they consider it making a mistake and not, you know, this all knowing omnipotent being that talks of acceptance testing their ability to love and tolerate other people. But, of course, they all miss the whole part about "How you have treated the least among you is how you have treated me" part --- Just because I have 99% of a heart doesn't mean it can't kill me.
