Welcome to the 2023 edition of Most Evil Fictional Character, a single-elimination tournament to determine the most evil fictional character of all time!

-First and foremost, YOU MUST BOLD YOUR VOTE FOR IT TO COUNT. The reason for this is that these topics encourage a lot of discussion and debate, and it helps me to distinguish a vote from simple discussion if all votes are bolded. So, I state again, ALL VOTES MUST BE BOLDED FOR THEM TO COUNT. I reserve the right to be lenient in early topics if people just aren't getting it, but for the most part, IF YOUR VOTE ISN'T BOLDED, IT WON'T COUNT.

-You must vote for which of the two characters you honestly believe to be the more evil of the two. You can determine this via any method you like, use your own morals and judgement, read all the arguments made to determine your choice, or however you choose to make your pick, but you must only vote for the one you truly believe is the most evil. This isn't a death battle, or a popularity contest. You're voting ONLY for the most evil character out of the two choices presented.

-While on that subject, remember that because this isn't a death battle or a fighting tournament, do your absolute best to consider the two characters as if their power levels were equal (either the weaker character brought up to the level of the strongest, or vice versa, or both if you want to consider both possibilities). Therefore, just because, for example, one of the characters blew up a planet and the other one merely kicked a puppy, doesn't necessarily mean the planet killer is more evil than the puppy kicker. Consider the characters as if they have the exact same capabilities and what they might do in that scenario.

-You can make any arguments, debates, etc. you want in this topic. Discussion is STRONGLY encouraged, a fun debate about which of the two characters is most evil is exactly what these topics are for. Just don't make it personal, no insults or flaming, keep things civil even if you disagree. Also, no vote rallying, if you want to encourage people to vote for your character you need to at least make some semblance of an argument as to why, even if it's just "Character X did (really dastardly thing), I can't believe no one's voting for them!"

-Voting will continue for exactly 24 hours after the post is made. If there's a tie, there will be a new 24 hour topic. This will continue indefinitely until a winner is determined.

The following write-ups will contain untagged SPOILERS for the Nightmare on Elm Street films and Fullmetal Alchemist/Brotherhood (anime and manga). Proceed at your own risk!

FREDDY KRUEGER

Freddy Krueger is the primary antagonist of the Nightmare On Elm Street films.

In A Nightmare on Elm Street, Freddy is introduced as a serial child killer from the fictitious town of Springwood, Ohio, who kills his victims with a bladed leather glove he crafted in a boiler room where he used to take his 20 victims. He is captured, but is set free on a technicality when it is discovered that the search warrant was not signed in the right place. He is hunted down by a mob made up of the town's vengeful parents and cornered in the boiler room. The mob douses the building with gasoline and sets it on fire by throwing Molotov cocktails, burning him alive. While his body dies, his spirit lives on within the dreams of a group of teenagers and pre-adolescents living on Elm Street, whom he preys on by entering their dreams and killing them, fueled by the town's memories and fear of him and empowered by a trio of 'dream demons' to be their willing instrument of evil. Throughout the series, Freddy's potential victims often experience dreams of young children, jumping rope and chanting a rhyme to the tune of "One, Two, Buckle My Shoe" with the lyrics changed to "One, Two, Freddy's coming for you", often as an omen to Freddy's presence or a precursor to his attacks. The children are often heavily implied to be the spirits of his past victims prior to his death. Freddy is psychopathic, twisted, and driven by the desire to kill. An insatiable sadist, Freddy takes enjoyment in terrifying his victims before killing them and will often spend weeks twisting the dreams of his quarry before moving in for the fatal blow. For a professional killer, he showcases very little composure; he is prone to fits of emotion such as joy and rage. Unresponsive to reason and deaf to pleas for mercy, Freddy is a nightmare made flesh, just what he's always wanted. Unlike many other slasher villains, Freddy Krueger kills his victims out of sheer enjoyment and nothing less. He doesn't kill because of external or personal reasons, he kills because he enjoys every minute of it. He embraces evil by his most common form and can look like whatever he wants. He doesn't have to look like a deformed, burned corpse, as he does that simply because it terrifies people and he loves to make sure they are filled with fear before they die.

SHOU TUCKER

Shou Tucker is a villain in the manga and anime series Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

Shou Tucker, the Sewing-Life Alchemistwas referred to Edward Elric by Colonel Roy Mustang in Chapter 5 when the Fullmetal Alchemist was in need of a bio-alchemist whose research notes might hold a clue to restoring his and Alphonse's bodies. Tucker had gained a bit of notoriety and earned his State Alchemist's License two years prior to the series by producing a chimera capable of human speech. Ed and Al begin visiting Tucker at his estate to pore over his library of texts and forge a bit of a friendly relationship with the Sewing-Life Alchemist as well as his young daughter Nina and their dog Alexander, though Tucker's wife was said to have left the family two years before. Tucker explains to the Elrics that bio-alchemy, especially in the field of chimeric research is experimental at best and results in a large number of failures and false starts. Tucker himself notes that, ever since the speaking chimera that earned him his license, he has yet to present an alchemical breakthrough worthy of his yearly State Alchemist assessment and fears that a failure this year will cost him his certification and research privileges. When Tucker reveals to the Elric brothers that he has finally managed to create another speaking chimera, Edward quickly perceives that Tucker has bypassed the impediments of artificially creating a being capable of comprehending and vocalizing speech by instead alchemically merging a live human with an animal - in this case Nina and Alexander and in the previous case, his wife. Tucker coldly confirms Edward's gruesome suspicions, to which Edward responds violently. Shou suffered from a lack of confidence due to his research not producing any viable results and is a very desperate, delusional, selfish, and manipulative man devoid of any sort of conscience. In order to get his qualification as a State Alchemist, he was willing to sacrifice his wife and later his own daughter in order to maintain it from fear of returning to a life of poverty and regret. After his atrocities were unveiled, Shou showed a notable lack of remorse for his actions and instead claimed it was merely the advancement of science, focused solely on remaining a State Alchemist. Shou has no genuine empathy for others' feelings and is unable to understand any perspective different from his own.

Tucker fucked up one kid. Freddy fucked up many kids.

No contest, Freddy Krueger should take this. Even ignoring that, Tucker's actions partly stemmed from fear (a selfish one about losing research stuff but still) and he likely wouldnt have done them in other scenarios while Freddy is an asshole serial killer.

Freddy didn't just fuck up some kids. He murdered 20, and that's before becoming the nightmare we know him as. Also killed his own wife in front of his six year old daughter. Then he becomes a dream demon and pretty much targets teenagers. He kills people, then taunts their loved ones before killing them. It's also likely he was a pedophile. He also tries to kill his own daughter. Not to mention he uses Jason Vorhees as a tool, and then wants to dispose of him for taking his kill.

It's a question of "if presented with a room full of children, which of these two will ruin more lives" and that is very clearly Freddy

Freddy Krueger manages to actually be a fun character, unlike Tucker, but he's definitely worse off. Just the sheer possibility that at least one incarnation of him could be a kid diddler is Tucker at least acted partially in desperation. Still complete fucking bullshit and in the wrong, but he's not a serial child killer!

Also, Krueger is from Ohio.

Easy win for Freddy here, as he kills way more kids than Shou Tucker did. Even in the context of this contest, Shou is upstaged by Bondrewd in the amoral scientist stakes.

Fun fact: every chapter of the Full Metal Alchemist manga where a character dies, no matter how minor, ends with a small gag panel of that character ascending to Heaven. Shou Tucker is the exception, as he goes to Hell instead.

The answer is probably Freddy but also, if a parent had the trolley problem and it was their own kid vs 20 random strange kids, I feel like most would kill the others to save their own child. So that's pretty fucking evil.
