It's the time of year when many of us have crickets chirping all day and night. Ever notice how when there's a bunch of crickets in the distance it's sort of background noise you can easily tune out, but a single cricket chirping nearby is super annoying?

When my previous air conditioner was near the end of its life it used to leak, around a drop of water every 30 sec.

I love going to sleep to the sound of rain. But one drop on the carpet per 30 seconds and it might as well have been Guantanamo Bay. Some sleep deprivation shit right there.

Maybe if you're used to it. My introduction to "many crickets" was spending a month in Japan during cricket season and I think we should exterminate every single one of htem.

I love the autumn, but I'm not really a fan of crickets. When there are dozens or hundreds in unison it sort of becomes a dull background noise.

In the mid-Atlantic and east coast of the United States we have quite a lot of them as well. Not sure how it compares to Japan. We get those buzzing cicada types here too in late summer. Those are the absolute worst.
