You always get those moments where someone's mother passes away and it becomes awkward because they're not also the mother of their on-screen brother. I remember years ago, well after Edge and Christian had ceased functioning as a tag team, they had a one-off where they wrestled again. After losing the match, Edge kicked Christian and JR made the awkward announcement that Edge just attacked his tag team partner. Like, really? Not "He attacked his own brother"? It seldom adds anything to make brothers out of people who aren't related and it can cause serious continuity issues. Like, during the Invasion angle (yes, I know -- we've all tried to drink that one out of existence), Christian said that their mother was in a car wreck before he ambushed Edge and joined the Alliance. The only way that Edge could have fallen for that is if they were literally brothers and not just two guys pretending to be brothers.
