That bad?

it was okay

It was good.

Cut about thirty to forty minutes out of it and it would've been great.

I could also have done without the car chase. It was not good. Couldn't tell wtf was going on for most of it. And I don't know why they started it by having him rev the engine while everyone else watched for like a full minute.

I like noir

Middle of the pack Batman.

Not good, but not the worst.

No idea why anyone would want to watch it twice.

I thought it was much better than Nolan trilogy.

It came and went

Didn't dislike it

Also don't feel like revisiting it.

The reason i liked it. Felt like a grittier, less 'showy' version of the Nolans. Felt like a visual graphic novel.

I watched it during a flight to Iceland.

It was alright, but felt like it went way too long.

The directors cut should have added 2 more hours of Batman sulking in the rain while grunge plays

It was okay. The movie was needlessly long and the entire final act honestly felt like it was tacked on after the fact as a studio note for the movie not having high enough stakes, but Ill watch another. Im looking forward to more of the Penguin, but their rendition of the Joker didnt do much for me though granted the screen time was limited and mostly cut so easy pivot there.

Also, I get that it was portraying a Batman that was still kind of green, but there were multiple scenes where my takeaway was that he was kind of dumb. Sure, rich dude that didnt work a day in his life didnt recognize a tool, but motherfucker is facing off a dude making riddles and he didnt at least do a Google image search for it or something?

It was pretty 'meh' overall with set pieces and character decisions that made no sense.

The chase sequence with the penguin was both unnecessary, led to countless deaths/collateral damage and is never addressed. I'm sorry but the riddler at the time was not worth all of that.

And the Riddlers motives and actions all made sense until the very end when he started targeting Innocents for no reason other then to make him the bad guy narratively.

It was an interesting premise on the detective aspect of the Batman character, but yeah, dragged on too long.

Pretty much this. I was getting outright bored by the time it ended. Most people are saying cut 30 minutes, I'd say cut an hour.

I honestly preferred the other film about a comic book bat man that came out the same year.

It was genuinely awful.

It seems to think that its a more adult and sophisticated take on the character, but it just isnt. Im not opposed to Batman movie that leans more into his detective side, but this one made him really fucking stupid. He didnt figure out anything for himself the entire film. It came across that the writers didnt know any way to move the plot forward other than for somebody to complete another piece of the puzzle for Batman.

Also, it was overly heavy handed with the themes, to the point of insulting the intelligence of the audience.

So expressionless, wooden, and devoid of any charismatic energy it makes BvS look more enjoyable than it is.

If a Batman movie is a "watch once and you're done", then it's an automatic fail of a movie.

It had many good elements or ideas in it, but overall the execution wasn't so great especially the last third or so of the movie. Pattinson wasn't bad as a younger Batman though his Bruce wasn't as good. I like Batman is actually a detective in this even if it wasn't done the best way. The Penguin stole the show and I'm down with his own TV show if they're still doing that. Selina/Catwoman was ok, but nothing special. The Riddler being some kind of incel-ish nerd is fine in theory and Paul Dano is a good choice, but again, the execution was lacking.

The movie needed some editing. The script could have been gone over again to tighten it up and make it better and cut some things out that were unneeded.

I didn't care much for it either. Personally, I wish they'd stop with the super dark and gritty philosophizing Joker for a while and bring back the old school Crown Prince of Crime Joker in some movie down the road.
