I found out the PS3 controller ONLY charges when the PS3 console is on, and my USB isn't charging the controller. Someone told me you can buy a charging dock. What charging docks do you recommend? ... Copied to Clipboard!

I recommend just using a ps4 controller and using your ps3 one for the bare necessities and living with having to charge it while the console is on due to how little you use it.

It was. Haven't used my PS3 in two or three years.

Im pretty sure you can just get a usb phone charger and plug the ps3 charging cable into it and itll charge the controller. why bother buying a charging dock?

I plugged my PS3 controller's cable into the phone charger, and I don't know if it charged my controller. I didn't see a little bolt in the battery icon that meant it was charging. ... was genuinely curious because i didnt remember having to plug it in specifically to the ps3. i plugged the mini usb into my phones wall adaptor and it started doing the slow blinks like it was charging
