Btw Red I've been meaning to see if you had any Disneyland advice. The wife and I are going in December, our first time back in a little over 5 years and our first time going during the holiday season. From what little research I've done it seems like the fast pass system has been completely overhauled.

You need to buy Genie+ to buy into the fastpass(Now lightning lane) system. It will cost 25-30(Probably 30) extra dollars per ticket per day. Its necessary to not lose significant value on your admission.

I still visit multiple times monthly so I can take any inquiries you have.

And it sounds like I don't have to make lightning lane selections in advance? Just be prepared to do it the day of, allowing us one active Sharon at a time and only one per attraction each day?

We're doing 3 days in the park(s), Saturday, Monday, Tuesday. Recommend genie+ all 3 days? And Park Hopper?

3 days you could conceivably get away with no genie and still experience everything. But the $30 adds significant value. So does park hopper for 3 days.

And yeah one per attraction per day is the new limitation. Outside that the system works pretty much the same as it used to.

Only minor difference is that Rise of the Resistance and Radiator Springs Racers are outside the genie+ bubble, their laneskip is sold separately(For $15-25 each). I don't recommend these purchases. Group of 2 that has been before should single rider RSR and Rise has high capacity and I recommend just waiting out the line or getting in line just before it closes; it typically closes at either 9pm or 10pm, check the app for closure time.

We haven't been since they added Rise so we'll probably hit that first thing each day and then fit in as much of the other rides as we can.

I believe Ulti engaged in a practice called, "ribbing his mate" and then retracted the pressure before he had a chance to actually anger his friend. You seem to believe that this fear of commitment is indicative of an ulterior motive, however I would like to present you with the idea that, mayhap, Ulti is simply conflict avoidant and just wanted to chat with people, hence his many back to back posts in the early hours of the evening.

depending on the exact day, monday and tuesday might actually be more crowded.

But the general rule of Disneyland these days is that due to reservations being required every day is just about equally crowded. In fact due to passholder patterns weekends are sometimes less crowded than weekdays. Very slightly. Maybe 5-10% variation on crowds, but not much.

I think the Abacus votes would normally be good if Abacus had been around to continue to engage. Not sure how valuable they are with Abacus leaving for the night. I certainly assumed Abacus was just joking, so the votes on him for semi-serious reasons are maybe a little too eager? Will be curious to see if Ulti railroads on Abacus through the day for that initial read or not.

I think Red is voting for FD for a similar train of logic as above. Jokes on BCT obviously not very serious. FD tries to make an actual conclusion from it. Red reads it as too eager to jump on the first morsel available. I don't hold it against FD for trying to find a thread to start with, but Red's vote also okay.

Seeing as how I think I have an understanding of why Red voted there (though I could be completely wrong on that lmao) the exchange between BCT #65 and FD #68 maybe makes FD look a little off to me.

Hmmmm. Okay. I think the whole "BCT cracks fast" thing is probably a genuine path you could take. But you have to wait for him to actually say things. It'd be one thing if this was 24 hours in and BCT had made a catch-up post or something. It just reads as eager to me, is all. But maybe that's eager town looking to generate conversation, I dunno.

I like Lea questioning Ulti's reaction to BCT's claim.
I am neutral about BCTs claim itself. Though for the record I dont think BCT would have snapped there as town or scum. Ulti practically told him that it was merely a vote for pressure.
Besides that I do enjoy seeing BCT fire back at Ulti and FD. Except it would have looked stronger if he did it before other players did.
The way FD 'accepted' BCTs vote also comes across as a rehearsed interaction. Not sure if thats FD backpedaling or BCT overcorrecting, or both.

Ulti attacking Abacus for the randomizer vote I disagree with on a principle level.
But I admittedly dont remember if Abacus is the guy who wouldnt normally do that (as Wall claims). I will have to look into it.

In general I do like Walls posts. They cut straight to the point like when he just wanted Sbell to clarify himself.

EDumey also seems to be of the curious type, which is good.

Don't rush RotR. Its too far in the back of the park and it has startup reliability issues that often make it not open with the park. It is also about a 15-25 minute experience, so it uses up a lot of rope drop time. Until January both parks open 30 minutes early for hotel guests so you get a very limited rope drop benefit.

Passes are all blocked 16/18/19 so crowds are going to be ???(Big, but everyone is going to be a day guest) and the 16th may actually be the least crowded day. Genie+ becomes a requirement I think because day guests purchase Genie+ more often(And this makes the standby lines hell).

I think there is still value in starting DCA a day and going Guardians->Webslingers->Incredicoaster->Midway Mania(Possibly start Soarin' though I loathe backtracking it feels inefficient). Especially since DCA waits can get particularly long compared to Disneyland(DCA has more low capacity attractions), but there is definitely an argument to be made that Disneyland is more compact and you can make better use of the morning hours every day.

See thats the question I had because it honestly feels like it could be both ends to me.
Moreso on FD's end he didnt immediately question how conveniently BCT gave him the kind of reaction he wanted to get. He got there a post later sure, but still..
