I got a shipment of chicken with a pack date of 11 days ago, checked it and I'm not serving that shit. So I file a claim and sysco comes back with "we wont be issuing a credit because our chicken is guaranteed for 14 days it's still good"

Dude the care home i work at gets a ton of its food from sysco and I would never choose to buy that shit. I feel bad for how people in care eat. Special occasions and maybe 1 to 2 meals a week are actually decent. Most of it is borderline inedible.

I used to run through Sysco when I was a FoH manager at a popular bar. It took me everything for three months to convince ownership to change meat/produce vendors. I have unpacked the most questionable shit imaginable just like that chicken before lol

In Philadelphia we have two dedicated market squares to what are essentially mom food distributors and no one uses them. Sysco is notoriously bad, and unfortunately 80% of the bars here use them. Restaurant Depot is another company that is marginally better, but their prices were hysterical.
