When it comes to violent conflict, bad things are going to happen on both sides, regardless of our feelings on them.

When the Allies invaded Germany during World War 2, they specifically and intentionally selected civilian targets and infrastructure as part of their bombing campaigns, because they believed that demoralizing and devastating the civilian population would force Germany into an earlier surrender. Over half a million German civilians were killed in Allied bombardments, and as Allied ground forces made their way across the countryside they raped between one hundred thousand to two million German women and girls.

Are those bad things? Certainly. Do they make the Allies the bad guys in World War 2? Certainly not. It would be weird if, for example, anytime anyone showed support for the Allied war efforts, they were questioned as to whether they supported the rape of 2 million German women. If people were banned from social media or forums for stating their support for the Allied forces. If Veterans Day parades were interrupted with journalists asking WW2 vets if they condemned the actions of the Allied military forces in Germany.

Bottom line is, you dont have to defend every action taken in order to take a side, and taking a side shouldnt be construed as agreeing with every single action that side has taken.

Israel was small but had influence of US. When they first started out, they were protected by western allies. Then the war started for Jerusalem. With the tech of the West they could afford. Middle East abandoned the poor and Israel won the effort. Since then, they expanded their territory with brute force migration. Hamas at that time was an even player in power but the chosen allies usually go to the one who can afford it. They haven't been on equal footing since. Israel played defence and the world was still mourning the loss after WWII. No one was going to support another genocide.

In the present, Israel has a foothold that no one argues with. It's been an active war zone on both sides and with no end in sight. No one is the winner when the innocent are involved.

Good point, but they are not pro-life either.

I wonder, what is the correct term for someone who would allow abortion with some limits? (Not the kind of limits that amount to an effective ban).
I tend to agree with Asherlee, here. You might not want to think of your views as being pro-life but youre still taking an anti-choice stanceyoure just splitting hairs with other pro-lifers over where you think the cutoff should be 22 weeks? 12 weeks? 6 weeks? 10 seconds? Its still taking away autonomy from women (and others who can get pregnant).

Even the most ardent pro-lifers, for example, who dont even hold space for exceptions due to rape or incest, still generally include exceptions for cases where the mothers or fetus life are at risk. Those exceptions dont make them not pro-life. Same logic applies to these cutoffs. Imposing them in the first place is anti-choice. Moving them to later in a pregnancy doesnt make them not pro-life.

Except only right-wingers treat it like team sports.

Most Democrats reluctantly voted for Biden because there was no better alternative and even now would rather have different leadership
