I shiggydiggydoo. Why am I even applying this so called hydrating lotion to my hands if its not doing anything and I still end up with dry hands that are so cracked they're almost starting to bleed out.

Yah know what rarely gets dry and cracked?
That's right, your balls. So take some advice from Al Bundy and his velvet smooth man mitts. Park your hands on your balls and keep them well moisturized all day long. You'll thank me.

That happens to me as well.

Burt's Bees hand salve... is the only thing that actually keeps my knuckles from drying out and cracking.

It's not really a long-term solution, but you can just wear latex gloves. I handle a lot of boxes at work and my hands would get incredibly dry, even while wearing work gloves. But now I wear latex gloves underneath and haven't had any more issues.

I use o'keeffe's working hands. That's the only thing I've found that keeps my hands from drying out during the winter.

Almost all OTC lotion has alcohol in it which will dry you out in the long term.

Olive Oil, Olive Oil will be your friend,

You're dry from the inside out.
If you have sinus issues, get a humidifier. I used to blow bloody scabs out of my nose before I got a humidifier.

Otherwise, consuming about 1 gram of coconut oil a day should be enough to keep you from drying out. Maybe 2 grams during the winter.

It's getting better but you know where the bleeding happens, right at the crack of the knuckles, like the skin is taut or something. I was told to put healing balm on the cracked parts not lotion

That was a curse every winter, but I have had great success managing it with Vanicream Moisturizing Ointment.

But its still kinda funny that not one but 2 posts recommended oil. If I had a nickel for every time someone recommended oil I'd have 2 nickels, but its still weird that it happened twice.

I actually use both olive oil and coconut oil for separate occasions while cooking. I even put coconut oil in my hair one time to test it out

Aloe Vera I've heard of, but this coconut oil remedy people itt have been mentioning is very interesting, I've never heard of that before.

Honestly I think the aloe vera is more helpful overall, but just rubbing some coconut oil on your hands before you sleep can really help. Like if aloe vera stops the moisture from leaving your hands, coconut oil feels like it helps put it back in.

With both my hands were completely better within a few days.

In addition to what others said, drink less coffee and alcohol. Drink more water. I really don't get dry hands anymore after I cut coffee out of my diet. And I live in a desert lol

Well the cracks have started to slowly heal over, they're in that itching phase with a lot of sharp edges. I'm combining two suggestions, gonna put oil and then wear gloves on top of that to retain the moisture. Also so that I don't get my bedsheets all oily when I'm trying to sleep since I'm applying it before bed
