Blue_Inigo 10/11/23 7:08:36 PM #1:	I loved Area Zero. I liked having the characters you've met come together and make a jrpg party. The mystery surrounding the professor was nuts. Dude was dead the whole game and you were talking to their AI bot who wants to stop them from fucking the region up with time displaced Pokemon. Your buddy you've been with the whole time is partly responsible for the prof being dead. It was the most intriguing part of the game and the presentation was alright. Loved how the final boss is dropping Master Balls from on high and looking down on you like scum. The UI gets glitchy in the last fight. It's a great time. The music was fucking great too. The writing is the best it's been in a Pokemon game since BW1, the actual moment to moment is fun without a lot of tedium, and the soundtrack fucking owns. Unfortunately the game was optimized to play on day old Potatoes and really bogs down the experience. But I thought it was weird that you formed a party of four to investigate a place overgrown with tera crystals or whatever, but you don't join up for a tera raid style battle with your party of four. You only ever have one partner. Like on one hand, thank goodness because tera raids are dog shit. Arven's story is also an emotional roller coaster. Nemona could use more characterization. It's implied her parents are filthy rich and she's lonely AF, but we don't get much on that in the story. Penny was.... alright. I would care more about Starfall Street if the game ran better and the challenge was more challenging.
