Also apparently the ultimate passes for seasons 1-5 were $30. Still outrageous, but obviously not as outrageous as now. Then Season 6 was the release of PvE and the ultimate bundle bumped up to $40. Now season 7 is out. No PvE, but still $40 lmao.

that will only happen once Kotick is out of the company. Which at this point doesn't look likely. Thankfully I have Stormgate to look forward to.

Man I really can't keep up with all this. Last time I checked they said it's finally going ahead.

Of all the things, I don't understand paying for skins in first person games. Unless you religiously watch your own replays, you'll only see them for like ten seconds between games.

Maybe it's for the best that Starcraft 2 was Blizzard's last RTS, if THIS sad version of Blizzard tried making Warcraft 4 it'd probably be horrific...

which is why you should be watching out for Stormgate, which is made by members of the original WC/SC team, and is Frost Giants first actual game.

you could get all the cosmetics just by playing the game before. you can't now without spending real money. which is more scummy and greedy?

what's more frustrating is that the in-game currency you earn cannot be used to pay for additional seasons. Like I'm obsessed with Hearthstone Battlegrounds, but even if I get 1st place, I'm not getting anything I can put towards even a discount towards the next season.

And this skin will sell tons and tons and nothing negative for Blizzard will come of it.

Every time people complain about a scummy or overpriced microtransaction in a game, I later see the game flooded with people who have it.

nah, the game is definitely losing players. 20k is nothing. the OWL steams alone used to be over 100k viewers

if they're pricing skins this high it means they're expecting fewer overall sales because of less players but the addicted whales will still buy the stuff

It at this point is essentially just an 8 year old version of the same game. How much could it possibly be saved? Only hope for salvation is abandoning "OW2" to put actual development in on a sequel called Overwatch 3.

according to a former dev, Kotick would give the team unnecessary projects just to fill time and instead of putting the results into the game he'd just scrap them. So at the very least completed content has a chance of being pushed to live. I would imagine there is a good deal of unused content that they can release all at once to fill the void left from the 3 years of barely any updates.
